I would like to know if the hardess on the 43 sponge is greater or less than some other rubber I can relate to, for example is it as hard as Bryce? is it as hard as Bryce Fx or Hammond?

What do you see as the difference between the Saviga and the Inspirit?

I'm not william, but I'll take a shot.

Dawei runs softer than most within their hardness ratings. I'd say the 43 degree may be closer to bryce fx. When 46 comes in that may be closer to bryce range.

Glued I can't tell any difference to be honest. Unglued and in softer sponge the saviga has just a bit more of the tension sponge glued feel without glue I think.

For you being a top player and all (seems like I remember you being that from about...am I mistaken?) so I know you glue heavy. If you have both available I would save the two dollars and just get inspirit if it's available in the hardness you want.

Thanks Cole,

Top player is somewhat relative but like almost everybody I glue a bit.

Thanks for your insight on the hardness scale. I think I'm going to get mine in the 46 then.

Is the sponge the exact same sponge for both Inspirit and Saviga?

Which Daweii rubber would you say is comparable to Donic F2 and in what hardness?

Thanks

Hi Petermoo, the Saviga and Inspirit are the softest sponges I have used in a while.  Big problem I had was dwell time as the ball was going deeper into the rubber than I was accustomed to, once I adjusted I have learned to use it to my advantage by creating angles I previously could not.  They are not the fastest rubbers I have used so I have to work the point more than with my H3 where I can end the point with 1 loopdrive.  They are not as sitcky as H3 or 729 SP but grippy and easy to loop with.  For me the Inspirit, black, is spinnier than the Saviga, red.  I have a red Inspirit but wont use it for a while as I am loving this combo.  I glue both and the sound is crazy.  When I am hitting especially in counterlooping, or loopdriving players come over to see what I am playing with.  Smashing is even louder.  I like them a lot but I miss the put away ability of the harder sponge so I may try them when they come in.  Oh they are very durable as I have hit the table with both and it only left a mark but did not tear the rubber.

Actually I had you confused with someone else. I figured it out.

I think the f2 would probably be around 40deg and the f3 closer to the 35deg.

Im not really sure what the difference is between saviga and inspirit. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure there is one. I think he started using the best sponge for both. At least for me.

Actually Cole Petermoo is a top player who is good enough to make the Jamaican team.  He is also extremely knowledgable when it comes to equipment reviews, so its good to be able to help him out for a change.

I'm surprised a top player would be using f2, since most top players are going to glue anyway.

F2 is an excellent rubber, I actually reglue it even though Donic does not recommend it. I have tried several rubbers to see what suits my technique and on my backhand F2 does it for me.

I have not used F2 but when I used F1 I speedglued it for months without any bad effects to the rubber.

Reviving an old thread.

I just glued two sheets of Dawei Inspirit onto my Stiga OC. They do cork as advertised! The loudness is comparable to the Donic F3.

Since it corks, does that make the Inspirit a speedglue effect rubber?

Which other Chinese non-tensor rubbers also cork?

It's nice to have the audio feedback. It's also a reward for contacting the ball correctly.

Big thanks to Cole!

I used this rubber for about 2 years on my forehand.
But i changed to IQUL SV because it easier to loop.
I also bought all these from Cole.

Hehe, the noise confused me the first time I played with the Inspirit at forehand. I decided to throw him off and only playing one more training session with it at backhand. Surprisingly it worked like a charm at backhand for me. Currently testing some rubbers, but maybe I'll come back to him.

The softer the sponge on Inspirit (especially regular, not quattro) the louder the cork.

Very underrated allround rubber, imho. Almost as good as Sriver FX :)

I liked 2mm 44% Inspirit better than Sriver FX, on blades like the Petr Korbel and TBS.

And I liked 2mm Saviga on the M6 too.

Icontek,

My impression is just the opposite. My BLK 40 2.0mm corks more than the RED 35 2.0 mm. The 40 also has a better feel than the 35.
