My world has just been enhanced by getting to know The Great Tommy Zia! To all, if you can get to know this wonderful man, do so.
I'm obtaining from him a very special blade. It's a uniquely light Nittaku Ludeack-ST. I'm going to do something fairly bland on FH, such as Mark V, but I just though I'd get some opinions on going with something slightly different on BH. I've read a bit about the Hammond Pro Beta, but I played with it the other day on a borrowed bat and it did not seem exceptional to me. It is possible that it was worn out, as this was a borrowed racket and the rubber was not in "new" or even "clean" condition. I don't want a super speed rubber as this bat is going to be much faster than what I've been playing (Andrzej Grubba with MK V 2.0 BH, FH). Indeed, going even slower than MK V would be in order. But what I do want is something good for lifting underspin shots with a big loop. I love that shot when I pull it off with my BH. My game is varied. I most love long, arching loops far away from the table... But I also love quick loops up close. I love seeing that ball sizzle down from the top spin. I love matching a chop with a big ol' chop of my own, with competing chops getting smaller and straighter and closer to the net as we go. What fun! Each shot seemingly trickier than the previous, with my favorite partner and I "oohing" and exclaiming with each other's unexpected return... Just love this sport! I so want to suddenly lift that chop coming at me with a loop! I also love suddenly inserting a big sweeping side spin that jumps so much the opponent misses the slam by 3 inches. I know, good guys will never miss that. But, when my current level of guys do, it's fun! About the only thing that seems less than enthralling (boring?) to me is the start of a point with all the pushes back and forth. Well, boring so long as I can return the serve given the spin some of these U of M guys put on the ball... I'm not worried about that particular problem (returning high spin serves), however, as I know I just need to see of those serves to get the hang of it. Also, I'm just learning my self to throw the ball up to serve it. UP? I mean really? I can't throw it into my bat? Why the heck not? And I have to wait til it's falling to hit it? Seriously? Anyway, cost for the rubber isn't an issue, unless there is something just as good at a much lower price. So, let me know if you folks have any ideas.

Hurricane 3 Neo is good for arcing loops, chops and the like. You have to be very active. Its worth it though
