To
protect our members, the following rules will be strictly enforced and threads that are not in compliance will now be locked or deleted without warning:
1) Tags: (Please use the appropriate topic tag to precede the
item title, for uniformity) This is done in the box called "Subject", which is in effect the title of your thread.
- FS: (means for sale)
- FS/FT: (means for sale or trade)
- FT: (means for trade only)
- LF: (means looking for)
It is important to include the colon ( the : ) after the tag. We are implementing a new system that requires this format. It will allow you to quickly see feedback on a seller or trader or potential buyer.
The moderators will edit or delete posts that don't follow this format.
2)
Sellers must set a price for any FS items. We are not an auction
site. Threads that fail to adhere to this will be deleted after a
warning. Please do not link to other auction sites like Ebay.
3) Sellers must post pictures of blades for sale directly
within the thread. Alternatively, sellers can provide links to other
sites where prospective buyers can see photos of what is being sold (such as
Imgur). Do not link to pictures on Ebay. We require pictures because the entire forum can then see the blade, and it helps to
identify fakes and thereby reduce commerce in fake blades. Posts that do not do this will be immediately deleted. Offering to send a picture to a prospective buyer by PM or email is not an acceptable substitute to posting pictures here. Photos
posted here must be less than 200 Kb. There are now many software
packages that allow easy shrinking of image files.
4) It is not allowed to sell blades known to be fakes on this forum, even
if they are identified as such by the seller.
5) Rubbers offered for sale that have been previously boosted must be
identified as previously boosted.
6) Guidelines for comments and replies to threads
in this section:
- Write in English. If the original post is in some other language, the thread will be deleted. Replies or comments not in English will be hidden. Repeated violations can contribute to a decision to ban a member.
- Out-of-context
posts will be removed.
- Comments
or questions about the item itself are ok but sometimes negotiations and
comments about a particular item can be handled more discretely by PM.
- It is ok to comment on price, but please be polite and respectful.
- DO
NOT ADVERTISE YOUR ITEM IN SOMEONE ELSE'S THREAD.
7)
Close thread: (after the item has been sold/traded)
- Make
it known that the item is no longer available editing the title in the top
thread by replacing the tag with "SOLD:...".
8) Business
owners who want to advertise or sell products should do so by purchasing a
banner, not through a thread. Advertising is defined as a
business owner trying to promote their products and services through the use of
threads, posts, and signatures.
9) Members who bump excessively (more than every other day) will be warned
by moderators to stop. Also, do not open more than one thread for the same
piece of equipment for sale.
10) Mods strongly recommend insuring packages that you ship if this is possible where you live.
11) We strongly discourage use of the Paypal "Friends and Family" or "Gift" option for payments. Sellers should not state that they expect this in their posts but it can be negotiated by PM with the buyer.
12) Be smart and don't post your personal contact information where everybody can see it.
13) The FS section is designed to provide a communication system that allows
buyers and sellers to make contact with each other. The moderators only police
the content of FS section. This forum (its owners, admins and mods)
cannot accept any responsibility for the specific transactions that may result.
Administration of the forum cannot police something that happens outside the
virtual world of this website. However, we retain the right to take our
own measures against any inappropriate activity that undermines reputation
and/or proper functioning of the forum. In other words, let the buyer and
seller beware. Buyers should know that they lose many protections if they use the Paypal "Friends and family" option.
14) The feedback section allows users to make comments about whether a member
has lived up to his/her commitments in previous transactions. It provides
some indication of the amount of accumulated trust, but it is not a perfect
system. The moderators will ban and attempt to identify obvious scammers and spammers, but it is
difficult for us to know all the facts in the event of a disagreement.
Ultimately both buyer and seller need to use reasonable discretion and
precaution, including using Paypal in a way that is prudent. We
strongly discourage use of the Paypal gift option for transactions here.
You should insure items that you ship where possible. At the end of the day, if someone is making you uncomfortable the prudent course is to not go through with the transaction.
15) If you are a seller, you must indicate where the blade will be
shipped from. This can be an issue owing to customs, different
reliability of shipping systems, and length of time for transit. Buyers
may wish to consider this in their decision making.
16) If you sell rubbers, used or attached to a blade, you are REQUIRED to disclose if that rubber has ever been boosted in your initial post here, along with the pictures or links to pictures.
17) All posts and comments in this section must be in English. The moderator will delete all comments in threads that do not comply with this.
