besides he's having too much fun playing in the german league!!

this season, he and persson are on the same team (fulda) and in a few weeks they take on boll's team, borussia duesseldorf!

waldner is one of the laziest pro's in TT.. even in pvt life he hasn't even gotten a driving license.. it would be great if he coaches a talented school age boy though or better yet marry a chinese TT player and have a TT child star in the future

the waldner nowadays is not as good as the waldner 10 years ago deal with it.. bbkon has prejudice with waldner and doesn't give him the credit he deserves, its one thing to compare players and its another thing to deny how great a player is and giving him his due credit

Waldner is one of the greatest players this sport will ever see.  What he does in his private life has nothing to do with what he has done on the table and for this sport.  Unless you have done what he has in his career, don't knock his accomplishments!!

hey i never meant that, obviously waldner is one of the greatest i never dny that, what i was pointing is that you can not compare maradona ,pele they have been always on top, can you think about a year where maradona hasnt been the best? or pele being in the dark?

just its unfair when waldner hasnt shone on every top tournament like many people claim that walnder always shines in the big tournaments, you know who has shone in every big tournament ; name a player that has always grabbed  a gold medal in every wttc he played, but as many members refuse to see the light of truth(or the numbers), nevermind

point me where do i use the "deny"

like speedplay posted HE WAS!!!! (now doesnt fit the title who is the best fo all times) gramar

My god there he goes again with the Waldner c**p.
Maradona hah hahaha give me a break, are you sirious, thats the school example of a fallen star!! Man do you realise how old is waldner, do you realise that he won everything there is to win out there, do you realise that 2004 when he was like 39 or 40 years old he beat Timo, MA, gave a great match against Ryu, and finaly lost to Wang for third place all of them like 15years younger than him, third place man on a Olimpic games! You know what give me a call when some of te nowdays players does that when he gets 40 years old. The problem these days in sports is that great money is made by it, especialy footbal, so you have these robot players running arround, making alot of money in a short time, and burning up even faster! There is no great money in TT but the way the game is played or the way players push it is not mant to last for a long period of time. I mean do you seriously see Timo or Ryu in their 40s jumping like cats from one to another side of the court.
Waldner has that something in his play, and concerning his nonrobotic nonuber sportsman life its even more amaseing!o what is the point you probably wont understand this.

THANKS KUPUS!!  I just couldn't let this go by.  There was Michael Jordan and then there was the rest of the players (not that they were not good).  There was Waldner and then the rest of the players.  You are right he has won everything there was to win!

Timo Boll said last week to German table tennis association:

-Waldner is the icon of table tennis, he is absolutely the best tabletennis player of all times and I think no one can ever change that.

Just ask players and coaches from 3 decades, no matter if its from the 80s, the 90s or the 00s. Players and coaches all over the world who has followed the world class during many years are united, Waldner has always been in the front of the development. He (and his teammates from Sweden, but especially him) was the one to break the chinese wall in the 80s and just look at Olympics 04, TWENTY TWO YEARS after his silver in the european championships 82,  he beat the best european, Boll and he beat the best chinese, Ma Lin. And I ask you how many europeans beats Ma Lin, except Timo? No one.

I do believe that sole match is the only one that Ma Lin has ever lost to Waldner, kind of like Wang Hao and Ryu Seung Min actually.

well i think that was the BEST TIME to win agasint ma lin, if uve never beat him before. BEAT HIM IN THE OLYMPICS!!!!!!!  i think having that 1 win is worth it, than 20 losses head to head agaisnt ma lin in other pro tour  events. nothing beats the olympics.
i lost my racquet

I think there s no need to talk about Waldner you just go and watch him play, watch his matches and you can learn alot about true game of table tennis, learn about tactics, reading spin, touch, feel for the ball and the game in general. We have to appriciate him cos he is the most influental player that ever walked this planet, ask pros they appriciate him and have deep respect for this guy cos they know what it takes to be the best and more! Now im gonna watch some video of Waldner and learn something new, everybody should do the same, im sure you all have some of his matches dhat you can say wo this Waldner guy is amaseing :-)

nothing beats the olympics.  you mean 1996?

 waldner at 2001wttc

  waldner at 2003 wttc

waht about he zhiwen 43 yo

hey friends what hapened to waldner at shanghai?????

give you a call..  where, waldner one of the best but not the best. sure a european player is gonna bias toward other european player, naive boy

still nobody answer why the swede failed to grab a medal at every wttc

the kupus why do you answer whendeep down  you know guys its true what i say

other question? how do you compare his performance athens 2004 and shanghai 2005 8 months later

besides i understand that if he s that good how he lost in first round in 1996, played poorly at 2001 osaka

man korbel was 3rd in 1996 olympic games and  where s now, you havent gave me me the phone of your primary school

this reminds me the mac thing

hey look up to he zhiwen ,married 2 kids and he scares many players thats a truly achievement

no wonder ma lin is the only jerk that lose to waldner , you can compare beating a knuclehead like ma lin, if ma lin loses leading 7-1 why not to lose to waldner

has walnder beat a non disfuntional player from china( any chinese but ma lin)

has been said that the swede always performs better at big tournaments
and NOBODY has answered what happned in 1996 atlanta,2001 osaka, 2003 paris??

isnt this clear  funny nobody cant explain waldner losing to johny huang.
 losing to filimon at bremen,

looking for shelter in the benches when the chinese team played to sweden in bremen.

waldner is great ,but comparing to michael jordan is sick, jordan was flaweless evrybody points the better matchs of the swede but nobody cant explain why he lost in many wttc at early rounds

waldner took 6 years of becoming world champion, kong... 14 days

at least persson had the guts to play zagreb ..mr sixty percent??
