I want to know the average weight of the 2 or 2.1mm sponges without the rubber cut for the blades.

TIA.

they're typically just under half of the rubber weight. Maybe 28g, depending on the type

Sorry cut. That's the full square  maybe 20 or 22g cut?

I agree.
Once in the past I separated the sponge from topsheet of a small piece of a rubber (not sure exactly what rubber it was, maybe Mark V?...). I also don't remember the exact weight, but it was about the same as topsheet.
I did that because I wanted to know how much weight I could save if I pick a thinner sponge. But I found that the difference is smaller than I initially thought.

LET'S DO SOME ARITHMETICS.

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/330152574_Table_Tennis_Ball_Impacting_Racket_Polymeric_Coatings_Experiments_and_Modeling_of_Key_Performance_Metrics

Typically, Porous Sponge density is measured to 0.4 - 0.6
Hence, you can say a factual weight of the sponge sheet by doing some arithmetics.

Example: sponge sheet 2 mm thick, being cut to the blade's size is known to square 200 cm2 net size. Sheet volumes 200 x 0.2 = 40 cm3
Dry Weight of the sponge sheet = 40 x 0.4-0.6 =16-24 grammes

NOTE: Separate rubber topsheet of the same size should be approximately 2 times as bigger weight, for the higher material density of 0.9 -1.1

/Be happy/

in my empirical experience it's just not that big of a ratio at all. In Japanese rubber in fact, I would guess some tops might actually be lighter than the sponges.

When I had the palio c tops they were around 26 uncut....lighter than most sponges I put them on or maybe the same.
