This may be a dumb question, but it's an internet forum...
I'm taking a bus for about 4-5 hours and my blade + rubbers will be in the cargo or bottom section of the bus. It's about 35F degrees outside. Should I make and extra effort to take my pong gear with me onto the bus or can I leave it in the cargo dept? There's no room in my laptop bag as it is. I ask this because 10 years or so ago I left a crappy Halex paddle outside in a car overnight in sub freezing weather. The next morning I saw severe warping--two of the plies of wood actually seperated. I have a primorac carbon, mmaze and stiga energy now and I don't want any of them damaged. Given this situation what would be advised? |

most good tt cases are actually insulated. my yasaka romo is and most high end butterfly ones I see are too. Iv had a blade and rubbers runned because of extreme high temps when left un protected in a car. Im sure its possible the other way around too.

you should keep your gear at room temperature. Extreme temperature will cause shrinking and expanding of the rubbers, which will slowly deteriorate.

Definately make an effort to keep your nice equipment out of those temperatures. It probably doesn't matter much for the glue, but the rubber and most importantly your blades should stay with you.
