Anyone who played with Pulse Racer or Rider and can say something about it?

@AMonteiro:
I saw in your signature that you are playing currently with Pulse Racer. Can you share your experience?

Pulse Racer:

- Very good natural rubber topsheet, quite firm and spinny. More spin compared to Pilot series and Boost series.

- Sponge is not so porous, I almost can't see any,but they say there's a new sponge technology on there.. cream/white color.

- Heavier compared to Pilot Advance but not like T05 or Vega PRO, etc..

- Better glue feel and sound compared to Pilot Advance

- Just a little righer arc, I expected more.

-Seems slower than Pilot Advance but I has a better speed/spin ratio.

-Very stable on blocks, short game and serves.

- Overall I see it as an upgrade on classic japanese new era rubbers (booster series, hammond series, etc..)

- Not a single relation with Tenergy or Tenergy factory as speculated before.

- If you are used to ESN righ throw rubber or Tenergy, this rubber is not for you. If you like classic japanese rubbers, It worth a try.

Pulse Rider:

- Very LOUD and soft version of Pulse Racer. It paired perfectly with TBS, 2.0 sponge both sides.

- Softer than Boost TC. About the same hardness as Boost TS..

I tested pulse rider. Very soft for a japanese rubber, very loud as amonteiro says, very fast.
Too soft for my taste, but very good rubber. I'll try pulse racer next week.
Here is what I can say :
Speed : the fastest soft rubber I've tried.
Spin : good, but with soft rubbers I don't manage to get heavy spin in topspin.
Block : not bad for a soft rubber, but it is not what I need.
Short game : the same as for blocking. Very fast and bouncy even in the short game. You have to be carrefull.
Overall a very good rubber, very fast, for people who like soft rubbers.

I played with Pulse Racer and Rider. They are soft and very fast. Much faster then T05 spin not almost the same. 90% natural rubber.

One thing Cornilleau could improve is their density rating.

Pilot Power they rate as 35° but it's harder than Pulse Rider rated 38°.

Simon Gauzy from France upgraded from Hinotec OFF to Aero Soft Carbon couple months ago. He played with it to win a double silver medal at WTTJC.

Probably I am going to be a new member of Cornilleau Pulse racer rubber group. Really great rubber, perfect for topspin play , good blocking game, easy to control in short game, great spin in service .Finally I have found a substitute for my previous 10 years of using of Desto F2 (great rubber, but short lifetime, 1 month only)
In setup with AvaloxBT777 and Genius sound (bh)

At my club there's a guy who has a decent level. He is using the same pair of Pulse Rider since January and the speed and spin are still there. At his level, he got bubbles on ESN rubbers but not on Pulse untill now. Speed glue feel and sound is very good on this rubber. Before Pulse Rider, he used to play with Hexer Duro (42,5°).

Is Pulse made in Japan ? Bubbles are usual on German rubbers but not on Japanese.

He must like soft rubbers. What is this player's style and what blade is he using? Also, are you able to give a US rating of the guy?

Thanks.

Racer ~ LT
Rider ~ LT Sound.

@batt: He is about 2100 US Rating. He was on class 10 (Paraolympic) national team at Pan-Am Games 2007. Two wings looper, TBS + Pulse Rider both sides.

@speaquinox: from the info I know, the Pulse line is more like Magna II line, Racer ~ Magna TX II and Rider ~ Magna TC II. Note that Pulse rubbers has 90% of natural rubber topsheet.

@ zheyi: Advance and Racer are about 60-63g uncut; Power and Rider are about 55-58g uncut, all 2.2mm

Interesting, that should mean higher throw and better grip compared to Calibra.

Do not have all Cornilleau rubbers a fairly low throw?

The previous generation had a low throw : pilot series.
The pulse series has a higher throw, between calibra lt spin (which is quite low) and calibra lt sound.
But nothing like a tenergy or a genius.

I crave for a non-BTY Japanese rubber that has good speed glue feel, higher throw, decent speed and good grip, I really do. All the current Japanese rubbers (again, non BTY) Boosts, Calibras, Phenix, Agrit, AirCondle, Renanos Bright, Pilot etc. has lowish throw. Harder ones throw a bit higher and feel a bit grippier but still not enough.

speaquinox,

So, Pulse is not the answer then.. as speed29 said, it has a higher throw but not like Tenergy or even ESN rubbers like Omega, Genius, Acuda, Hexer..

I had the same need on my BH but didn't find too. So after testing Pulse Racer and Rider on BH, I decided to go back to Advance 2.0 and play a little closer to the table when using BH.
