On Nittaku's specifications, it is mentioned that Violin J-pen has speed of 10,5 and control 8. However Violin C-pen, having the same specifications like Violin J-pen, has the speed of 10,5 and control 8,5.
Is it a general fact that C-pen has more control compared to J-pen? |

control ratings are totally dependend on your strokes so don't pay too much attention to them.
I don't think that you'd neccesairly have more control with C-pen than you would with J-Pen.. depends on your level and style. If you ask me for the potential control of C or J-pen then ehm I wouldnt know. |

It depends on the stroke, the farther away from the table the less control C-pen has and the more J-pen possesses.

I wonder what are the factors that made Nittaku gave the higher control rating to Violin C-pen over Violin J-pen...
TT-Freak, I am curious to know what is the background of this theory that C-pen has more control near the table and less if far from the table. It is rather difficult for me to understand if the difference in shape can create this difference in control. |

would it have something to do with the fact that Cpen head is slightly smaller and it has a larger sweet spot vs total area....

Yes, perhaps J-pen is more head heavy so it hits harder.
Some C-pen has even larger shoulder (the part near the handle) like my Schlager Carbon X-CS. But material has more influence I think, because so far my Schlager has the most speed. Or is it because of the weight? It has 92 grams compare to my other blades having72 to 84 grams. |

Actually I find that using J-pen close to the table is easier to manuevre compared to C-pen.
