Thanks!! I'll comment on it later when I get to use it more. Though i'll say that it's a dream loop driving backspin balls.

i looked at sombody's blade and it was protected  with a piece of rubber-like material(it is an edge tape) with "dr.newbauer" written on it.it may not aesthetically pleasing ,but is is a great thing to cover the edges.the guys has a thick balsa wood,so he does keep his investment protected(the blade costs somewhere in range of 120-170$)

Go to www.tak9.com and there r nice pics. of Joola MC-1 FL and ST, I prefer ST one as that handle is quite uniform unlike the big-butted bottom FL. Dandoy has MC-1 for under 40.00 USD.
Seasterl, r u thinking of what I'm thinking...but it's blade's thickness put me off, like 8.1mm for a balsa cored blade...

Let's not think that!  I've got to keep a cool head about buying more blades!  Actually, I like the blades 9-10 mm now.   The thinnest blades I have are the SC at 7.4mm.  (...and to think I used to prefer 5.5 - 6 mm blades!)  If there's one thing I've found in common with most super-thick blades is the awesome feel.  They all feel solid with the perfect amount of feedback.  The thinner blades have too much vibration, IMO.

Devilish thought, I must say...this is the kinda "thought" that got us in trouble, yet so true....SC doesn't look thick it's bcuz it's head size is kinda small that makes it look less thick than it actually is. Like I say, anything between 7.0mm - 8.00mm is still acceptable as it's my new "perspective" now. Embarrassed

I think i saw someone say it's Koto. It's a pretty fast blade, minimal vibration in the handle, definitely less than any of my other blades.

It's definitely better in terms of look, and it provides VERY solid protection. Probably not as thick as Dr. N but much thicker than a lot of other brands.
