Hoping to see Koki Niwa and/or Choi Deok Hwa on one of the TV tables. Two of my favourite U21 players.

I have a feeling like she might be chinese. Her name would be pretty unique in Japan, and her chinese name (literally)

宋恵佳

is Song Hui Jia.

Hi folks. Because of holiday I'll not be able to follow up on this tournament and videos will then be uploaded after the tournament. I'll reuse this post to publish the matches.

lol at his shout especially at the end

but he might be the future world champion if he able to keep improving. Just see that he is not afraid of take the risk to change the cross court looping into straight loop during the rallying. Then, sometimes he just keep doing only cross court rallying to confuse the opponent.

and lin didn't put one ball in the base line. just change direction of looping. not always in the diagonal.

with speed and power that is all. do not need the baseline at all. amateur story.

in fact he missed most points the few times the ball was going to the baseline going the ball out of the table.

It seems all the chinese boys try to shout and scream really threateningly. Seems they're overcompensating for something ;)

They are probably just try to overcome the pressure that they have during the match. I did it once (and used to do it all the time), trying to put some more pressure on the opponent when I was leading the game.

@ejmaster, because lin still not yet Ma Lin. Search in youtube for "Ma Lin: to live just for one moment", putting a ball on baseline does need a good ball feeling. Most pro can do it, but it not necessary they can do it precisely all the time in the match. But as I mentioned before, Ma Long did use long serve to baseline as the main strategy to win over Ma Lin, and Ma Lin did admit this.

And if you watch at the 4th and 5th set of Patrick Baum vs Lin Gaoyuan, after Patrick get used to Lin tactic, he already begin to expect Lin will rally to the straight after first two cross court. This may one of the reason he got the 4th set. But in 5th set, Lin changed the strategy, as you can see the bh to bh rally, Patrick was preparing to expect the ball will go to FH eventually, but it didn't.

it's great to see someone with very little power beat patrick baum so handily still. That kid is squirrely.
