For a player under 1500, still developing in style, what type of blade would you recommend? It seems I prefer a fast rubber, but I don't want to overdo it with a fast blade + fast rubber. Most important to me is good control and feel. But I also want it fast enough to be a good match for a fast rubber (don't want a slow blade to take away from rubber speed) and also need a decent bounce off the LP 0X.

My current blade is very lightweight Stiga and has a hollow WRB handle. I actually like my current blade a lot, but I think I could benefit from a little heavier blade and a larger sweet spot.

Blades I've considered:

Yasaka Extra
Donic Burn OFF- (handle looks good for my large hands)
Stiga Off Classic WRB
Galaxy U2004 (supposed to be similar to Stiga OC)
Galaxy W-6
Dawei GTS Carbon
Galaxy V-13 (same as old K-3 with CarboKevlar -- supposed to have good soft feel)

Butterfly Grubba Pro
Tenergy 80
National Team Pogo LP .6mm

It doesn't matter that much.  The blades I have liked best were ones I got a chance to try at my club, owned by friends.  That way you are not guessing so much, and it's how I discovered the model I have been using for last five years.  In the past when I bought something based on how the specs looked or how the manufacturer described it, more often than not I was disappointed.

I'm using a JOOLA Wing Medium. It's can be very very fast if you hit hard enough, but has great control over the table. It also has a nice large handle.

The 5.3mm thick Nittaku Violin has good flex and great feel. You will like it. Being a flexy blade you will a very high arch which gives you big margin for error while looping.

In terms of your development, you probably won't benefit from any blade change, but EJ'ing is fun!  Like Baal said, it doesn't matter that much, so pick any one that you find interesting if you have the money, or pick a cheaper one if you don't.

BTW, based on review on ttdb, the V-13 is nothing like the K-3, unlike all the other V-1X series vs. their K-X counterparts.

Yes, except that Korbel is for small hands.

to sum it up regarding the GTS: no, it's not flexible, but it has the best feel I've experienced in a wood/carbon blade (so I'm excluding blades that have arylate, zylon, etc)

I don't find it that fast. Last night I tried it after having only used my xiom setup for a few weeks... the GTS felt slow as molasses
