Primorac up 3 games to 2. He looks to be in control.
I can't believe this man is 44 years old. Edit: Primorac wins 4 games to 2, 14-12 in the 6th game. Next match: Lily Zhang vs Ariel Hsing. Edited by bonggoy - 07/05/2013 at 5:34pm |

The value of a great backhand. If he didn't grunt so much, he would be my favorite player. |

In U-21 event, Tao Wenzhang will play Yuan Xiaojie in the final.
I watched the semi-finals, both of them are impressive players - both faced strong opponents.
What is your guess as to who will win.

I find it very interesting that the umpires have been very strict on serves. They've given warnings and faults for everything from not holding it in the middle of the palm, to tossing it backwards, to not tossing it high enough yet Lundquist has routinely not taken his free arm out of the way. This is the 2nd match (part of each) of his that I watched where he did it without a fault. If you ask me, that's worse than all of the other infractions.

Masato Shiono, received 4 votes here, more than any other players, got knocked out by Zoran Primorac.
Eugene Wang, received 2 votes here, barely survived. Good for Eugene. Edited by skip3119 - 07/05/2013 at 11:04pm |

Primorac showed how to handle Shiono.
Don't give him power to work with. Vary pace, spin, location (long, short, left, right, middle), and he will lose consistency, provided of course you have the control to execute the variations. The worst thing to do against Shiono is to try to overpower him with a simple loop-chop game. |

Guys, remember that Primotac honed his game in the 38mm ball era where spin manipulation was key. That and his wealth of experience beat Shiono.

Primorac Zoran, that's your pick, is still in there.
Getting passed Shiono Masato is quite an accomplishment.
Not sure you will win this contest, but you certainly are getting closer.

+1... he's played the best defenders when they were good and when it was harder to do. You don't see that Matsushita style varied defense like Shiono is doing these days anymore. Shiono is still more aggressive than Matsushita, but he beat everyone at Japan Open because none of them had that experience. Zoran was just like "Hey, I've done this before, and it was a lot harder back then" Aside from that, Zoran is in fantastic shape still. I was worn out watching some of those points.

He always looks so relaxed. Every point, every exchange he just looks relaxed. It's pretty crazy.
