Thanks Manfred
Indeed Baal, this one is a great playing Vis- I have played with several blades (not only Viscarias but also Primo Off, Maze, Jonyer) with letter G,H or I and they were all extremely good blades (highly above average). Maybe 2006-2008 have been good production years. I do not remember any G,H or I series blade that was below average. I will add another Vis lady from the first series soon.

My 2008 one is very much like that one. It's the one I play with.

Butterfly Viscaria ST, 88g - 4th series (2008-2014)
This was a standard new series Viscaria FL from 2012 (letter M) and now has received a new straight handle with the original lenses worked in into the handle plates. |

Thanks The blade plays fine.
This time I am a little bit proud as I did the restoration of the little damages at the edge by myself.
@kakapo: of course that one would be a fitting fish for your TBS aquarium! |

Butterfly Viscaria Family II
The blades you can see within the picture are from 1st or 2nd series. One is from 3rd series. They are all old tag ones. There is no new generation blade from 4th (2008-2014) or 5th series (2015). Edited by Dean - 09/01/2017 at 1:13pm |

Butterfly Viscaria FL, 86g (Ann M.) from 1st series 1993/1996
This is a very special lady as she has very very soft and yellowish outer Koto plies with a wonderful structure. To me one of the most beautiful Viscaria blades I have ever seen and/or held in my hands (subjective of course). The special thing is it is from the latest batch of the 1st series, having already thick and brighter handle plates. Edited by Dean - 09/01/2017 at 1:11pm |

Michael, we both share the same passion meanwhile, "VisJing" around We need to see your pure Jayne M. here
During the last days I have changed my mind about the series dates of 2nd generation and 3rd generation Viscaria. I once again tried to find out more about the first letters of serial numbers, the year BTY started those numbers and the year they started with the silver aluminium tag. My point of view at the moment: 1st: 1993-1996 old metal tag, straightened lense (F L / S T) 2nd: 1997-2005 old metal tag (FL / ST) 3rd: 2006-2008 (G,H,I serials), old metal tag 4th: 2008-2014 (I-O) "old" silver tag 5th: 2015 (P) "new" silver tag Edited by Dean - 04/20/2015 at 1:05pm |
