    Posted: 10/13/2019 at 5:33pm
Updates:
2019-10-23 Nexy have decided to double the number of lucky members: it's now 10!
2019-10-24 Bad news: MX-K H 2.1mm in black is sold out, so it's only available in red. If any tester wants it in black, they will have the option to wait, but it may take about 3 months.
2019-10-25 Good news: Nexy have decided to include the MX-K and MX-K H rubbers in 2.3 mm among the selection. These rubbers have only been tested by few professionals and will only be released next year. But you may test them before. They're available in red and black.
2019-10-28: The following players have been accepted in the "qualified reviewers" category: anubhav1984, ericd937, Kolev, kolevtt (if he posts a number), NextLevel, Olio, passifid, slevin, SmackDAT, stiltt, yogi_bear.
2019-10-30: the closest guesses to the following numbers win: 1122 (lucky members), 4448 (qualified reviewers).
2019-10-30: the winners are announced here. You'll receive a PM shortly with details about how to claim your rubbers.

Hey Nexy fans,
you may remember the past Nexy Rubicon, Karis, and Arche giveaways.

You may have read about MX-K and MX-K H, the new unique inverted rubbers from Tibhar (designed by Nexy): here is the announcement.

More pictures and information in the Nexy table tennis store: MX-K and MX-K H.

Oscar, the president of Nexy (user Nexy in this forum), is giving away for free 15 pairs of Tibhar MX-K(H) rubbers (value 110 USD per pair) to 15 players in this forum that are willing to test and review the rubbers.

Here is the deal:

  • 5 pairs of Tibhar MX-K(H) will be given to "qualified reviewers".
  • 10 pairs of Tibhar MX-K(H) will be given to "lucky members".

In exchange for the free rubbers, reviewers are expected to test them for at least a few training sessions and to post a fair review of the rubbers in this forum.

Qualified reviewers will be decided by lot. Any forum user may apply as qualified reviewer. However, you need to have a sound history of reviewing table tennis equipment. You can apply by posting in this thread (NOT by PM to me!) and adding a few words explaining your experience in reviewing table tennis equipment and one or more links to reviews you wrote.
You also need to specify a number between 56 and 4849. To win, you must be among the 5 users that come closest to the number resulting from the concatenation of the HIGHEST two numbers (in ascending order, not the order of draw) of the German Lotto "6aus49" of the October 30, 2019, draw (that's the fifth and sixth number, the "Super" number is ignored). A few examples: each number drawn is between 1 and 49 and numbers are published in ascending order, so if the highest two numbers are "8" and "24", the winning number is 824; if the
highest two numbers are "33" and "48", the winning number is 3348. The draw is at 18:25 German time.
Deadline for applying as qualified reviewer is October 28, 2019, 12:00 GMT (that's noon). If your post was modified, it's the "last modified" date that counts. In case of draw, the user having a post with earlier posting/last modified date wins.
If Oscar or I feel that your profile does not match our expectations as qualified reviewer, we will move you to the pool for the draw of lucky members (see below). This will be done before the draw (this is why the deadline is earlier), so that you could still choose a different number, if you so wished.

Lucky members will be decided by lot. Any forum user may apply as lucky member, no special skills or prior experience required. You can apply by posting in this thread (NOT by PM to me!) and specifying a number between 12 and 4445. To win, you must be among the 5 users that come closest to the number resulting from the concatenation of the LOWEST two numbers
(in ascending order, not the order of draw) of the German Lotto "6aus49" of the October 30, 2019, draw. A few examples: each number drawn is between 1 and 49 and numbers are displayed in ascending order, so if the lowest two numbers are "3" and "24", the winning number is 324; if the lowest two numbers are "12" and "45", the winning number is 1245. The draw is at 18:25 German time.
Deadline for applying as lucky member is October 30, 2019, 12:00 GMT (that's noon). If your post was modified, it's the "last modified" date that counts. In case of draw, the user having a post with earlier posting/last modified date wins.

This may sound complicated, but we needed to find a random number generation mechanism that is transparent and tamper-proof. The results of the draw will be visible here (in German) and here (in English). In case of conflict, the German results are official. In case that for any reason there is no draw on October 30, the numbers of the subsequent draw will be used.

You may only apply for one category of testers: qualified or lucky.
If for any reason there are not enough participants in the qualified group, we will select a correspondingly higher number of lucky testers.

The 15 winners are expected to order any item (even small) from the Nexy Table Tennis Store (http://www.nexyttstore.com) and pay shipping costs to their location (possibly about 20 USD). On top, they will get two sheets of Tibhar MX-K for free. Testers will be able to select color and hardness (either MX-K or MX-K H) of the two rubbers. They are available in the following colours and thicknesses:

  • MX-K (47.5°) in 2.1mm (red and black) and 2.3mm (red and black);
  • MX-K (52.5°) in 2.1mm (red now; black in 3 months) and 2.3mm (red and black).

The winners will be announced here and receive detailed instructions about how to proceed by PM. Please await instructions before ordering.

If you have questions, please post them publicly in this thread.
Thanks and good luck!

P.S. Note that, since the German lotto numbers are from 1 to 49, do not repeat, and are published in ascending order, certain numbers can never be an exact match, such as 2018, 1111, 969, etc. However, this is irrelevant, because the only thing that counts is getting closest to the winning number. See this post for a discussion.

P.P.S. Thanks to Michael for coordinating this at Nexy's end.

I am interested in reviewing those as a qualified tester. I have been trying Rasanter R47, Fastarc G-1, Xiom Vega Pro and I am looking at something grippier without going too hard. I will pair those with a MJ SZLC and a Vega Pro.

I am entering my 3142 number in that category.

If I am not chosen as a qualified tester, I am entering my 312 lucky number.

Hi, with over 16k posts, you may well candidate as "qualified tester"!
However, in that category, it's the two highest numbers of the draw that count. I'm just saying this in case you want to revise your choice.
