I am currently using Giant Dragon Top Energy as my forehand rubber on an Avalox allround blade - all wood and 5 ply. I like it but it's beginning to show its age and I think it is time to replace it.
My style of play is try and stay close to the table and hit or push/block when having to defend and when I am pushed back loop. I find I don't chop very well with this rubber - probably my technique rather than the rubber, but that doesn't bother me too much as I prefer to attack.
I like the control this rubber gives me, but I would like a little bit more speed, without sacrificing the control I have.
I have used Hurricane 3 before but not on this blade. I found that ok too, but the blade I used it on was heavier (7 ply rather than 5 ply) and more of an off-/off blade, so not really comparable I think.
Any suggestions for a replacement please.
