Why is it that the majority of the single-ply hinoki blades are J-Pen?

It would be too heavy and also too thick for shake-hands. In average, a single-ply blade weights 85 - 95g, and with rubber on both sides, it would weight over 160g, which is just too heavy. Also having rubbers on both side would make the paddle to thick for close table returns. |

If I am to choose, I would take the blade that belongs to Rpbnakata. Indeed it is a very nice blade.

I own 15 J-Pen paddles, which include 6 custom BTY rackets, Cypress Special, BTY RSM, BTY KTS, Darker 70, Darker 90, Xiom Platinum, Taiwan Hinoki, etc. In my opinion, nothing compares with the BTY Custom made rackets. :) See the attached pic and you should be able to tell the different (no just the superficial appearance of the rackets) http://www.ssttc.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=1522&extra=page%3D1 |
