Andro has a new blade, this time is mostly made from balsa, so it's very light with some abachi wood used as cross ply.

I think that this will play like their famous Explorer blade.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Butterfly's SBC blades have cross plies.

Very light!

Mine (the off version) weighs about 70grams. Its not too fast. Great handling.
Nice sound when you hit the ball. it's sort of a 'plok' sound.

Edit: Andro says that is weighs 78grams (thats 8 grams heavier!)

All that balsa blades seem's very similar to me. Its like someday everyone discovered balsa and don't want anything else.

isn't cross plies illegal though? i though the plies have to be continuous across the whole blade surface?

From official regulations: The blade, any layer within the blade and any layer of covering material or adhesive on a side used for striking the ball shall be continuous and of even thickness.
