Sriver fx gives me a very dead feeling without the proper amount glue. I have experimented (wasted money!) with this rubber a lot. However, they say with the "right" amount of glue, its great for looping. The right amount varies if the rubber is new or how old. I haven't figured out this one yet
Any help? |

crazy... bryce, cermet, sriver el as bad rubbers? lol
don't insult them just b/c you're not good enough to use them the only ones that i agree are crap are ritc (close range control play is nice though), hurricane series (if it weren't for the hype, everyone would acknowledge these suck) furthermore, this is relative to bty rubbers so it would probably be more accurate to say, "they're crap compared to bty" fyi, h3 is weaker than sriver. without speed, spin is nothing. if ur decent and have tried both, u know h3 is far less consistent and lacks tension for good long shots. |

Sriver has no tension, thats why its called a "classic rubber".
Oh please, have you even played with Hurricane 3 with speedglue poured into it? Its a beast for attacking. In fact the only reason I'm not playing with it anymore is because I can't be bothered to glue and only play sporadically nowadays. |

It is kinda funny that you think all tibhar rubbers suck... look at the bh-side of your setup...
It takes more skill to use H3 than it takes to use bryce or sriver EL... sriver EL is imo a beginners rubber, bryce was somewhat good but it made almost no spin and seemed very dead to me... H3 doesn't give you much for free, but if you have the right technique then it will give you a lot.... |

Posted earlier, but I make a new post cause I forgott to mention: RITC 802-1 short pimples. It is a great rubber, but its speedrating is a big JOKE! It was a lot slower then globe 999, hey it was even slower then thoose old Friendship 729 I used to play with a long time ago Are all pimples out rubbers overhyped when it comes to speedrating?

You need to hit it, not spin it; and time it right as well or the ball might slip off.
PS: When I said pour I meant pour, that would be the equivalent to about 5-6 layers of speedglue, thats the minimum to get Hurricane to work. |

That is true, its so easy to control, feels like one cant miss with it. As I tried to explain, it is a great rubber but I was dissapointed since it didnt even come cloose to the speed it was rated to. It was rated 104 in speed, while Couga was rated 108 an seriously, they are not that close in speed... |

www.Japsko.com (avaliable in english, great site) And, after checking they rate it 102, not 104. The couga is rated 108. Friendship is rated 93, but they still plays faster then RITC 802-1. www.ttex.se (should be avaliable in english, but I cant get it to work) They rate Ritc as 8 while they rate Friendship 729 super fx as 7. |

the super fx is slower than most rubbers I have tried... I have also tried 802 and was a little disappointed to as I thought it would be more springy than it was... I also have to say now that the boll spirit was kind of a let down, because it is supposed to be so good for looping, but it had no flex, and was much better for blocking than looping... |

Sriver. Not because it's a bad rubber but because everybody seems to bow down and worship it as some crazy god of table tennis. If you win a match with Sriver everybody's like: "He's playing with Sriver... no wonder!"
Sriver was impressive as my first real TT rubber, no doubt... but once you've got to the "tournament player" level I feel it really pays to experiement with different rubber technologies. But time and time again I play people who are using a peice of Sriver so old it could have been made by Jesus. They love it to death... literally. |

This is just personal preference, but Andro Revolution Quad 450 is so slippery, not suitable for my heavy topspin looping. I do asian looping that needs a tacky topsheet. Oh well, I just chose the most expensive rubber available in the combo from pingpong.com.

Long pimpled rubbers!
After reading how much everybody seems to hate them, naturally I wanted to play them. Its always funny to irritate your opponent So, for todays practise i used some long pimples and man! I totally trashed the net! I dont think that I have ever hit the net so much before! So, I guess its not just to glue on the rubbers and play, one needs to master them to be succesful... To bad, I thought I discovered a shortpath to victory... |

You should try short and medium pips before you go to long pips.

I have tried short for a while, I like them, but the longpimples made me so depending on my opponent to make a move. Short pimples are easier to attack with or even just put some tempo on the ball. But I will continue my struggle, cause a medium longpimpled player beats good pimples in players, I have read this in this forum |

most stiga rubbers that I have tried;-carbo, carbo sound, magna, mendo, almana. However, i quite like Yasaka though! Weird as I was told Stiga rubber is basically Yasaka and Yasaka blade is basically Stiga. Maybe should Stiga rubber changed its name to Yasaka, then I would have preferred more :) Make no mistake! Stiga's blade is fantastic, if you like the vibration. |

Refoma was disappointing. Really nice at first, grippy, soft. 3 weeks later the topsheet went waxy. spinmax fixed it though.

Hi Guys, Just wondering if you could give me some tips on a good blade and good rubbers to go with it. I'm a pretty crappy player so i'm looking for a blade and rubber combination that "plays for me". Something that will win matches for me! |

"Weird as I was told Stiga rubber is basically Yasaka and Yasaka blade is basically Stiga. " Interesting. How reliable is this source? But giving the current trend of globalization, this may look real. Many Nittaku blades are produced in DH factory. I recently purchased a Yasaka Extra 7 and found it somewhat like a Stiga OC, especially the feeling from the handle (mine is flared). |
