Just wonder what manufacturer made the first tension rubber, what rubber was that and who was the first world class player popularize it.

I think both Donic with formula donic and Butterfly with Bryce came out in the same year. Butterfly didn't start labelling bryce 'high tension' until a couple years later though.

Joola also bought out the Tango around the same time. It's usually the same with rubber technology. Just like we are seeing now with the new generation like Green Power and Powersponge etc.
