I've been using Sriver FX on the FH for a while (glued) and recently bought a sheet of Red Bryce FX 2.1.
At first the Bryce FX (glued) seem like nothing special. I then used it a second time (glued) on some robot drills and again nothing special, BUT... the third time I glued 3 layers of Stiga Carbon glue and WOW!! This rubber exploded into life - I was stunned! Fortunately I play with a Primorac so I managed to get it under control after 5 minutes or so but it felt VERY different to the Sriver FX. Has anyone else had this experience with Bryce FX? I read somewhere that Waldner evidently used to say that his rubbers were only good after a few gluings. |

For me ANY new rubber, it feels different after 2-3 times speed glueing it. I guess it takes awhile for the rubber to fully soak in the glue throughout the entire sponge. And most of my soft sponged rubbers have been like that too. Like 729 LLKT XT/XP, Sriver FX and Bryce FX.

yep- same here with theh LKT XT. The first two times I glued it, there was little effect. The third time, it took just one coat and domed in less than a minute. THere must be some sort of threshold you need to reach before the sponge responds.

The glue activates the old glue, making it more effective. Thats why it takes a few glueings.

I use regular Bryce with speed glue for the 1st few times I played with it and now I used Spintech's Speed booster to keep the feeling going with out adding more glue to increase the weight of the rubbers. Anybody who speed glues knows that if you add too much glue the racket starts to get really heavy. This has solved that problem completely.
I love how fast Bryce is speed glued. I can take much less of a swing and gain control while the speed of my shots remain fast. I've got some ASTI booster on the way... I'll let you know how that works too. |

Thaidog what glue do you use? I use Stiga Energy or Stiga Carbon and I don't seem to get a build up that noticeably increases the weight of the racket???

I'm a Bryce FX user, with red on the forehand. Once glued, this FX is powerful and spinny and in that condition is a dangerous weapon.
