A leftie's down-the-line shots are worse than his crosscourt ones, use that knowledge to your advantage.

Yes i agree. Mostly players conttrol the game from their bh corners so play fhs from bh to opp bh. against lefty you will find him playing wide of yr forehand taking away yr control of the game. If you play wide of his fh you will be in control. Of course be sensible play shots to his shoulder to cramp him up towards his bh then angle to the hole in his fh

I play better against lefties.  Maybe because I've played against my friend who has the same lavel as me for 3 years.  And I train with him too.

joey, it would be great if you share your experience instead of stating that you are good against one.

And the solution for lefties playing each other is to study righties playing each other! I said this to the lefty on our team and now he is 70-30 against lefties last two seasons.
But I think you know that Hookshot :-)

Well it's very difficult to explain what strategies I use againt my friend and most of the lefties. First: my serves are short varying them a lot. Sometimes I make a very fast long serve with sidespin to his FH when I see him out of position, or a fast and very long underspin serve to his BH.  I try to attack first and I play most of all my mid-strange and control shots to his backhand.  I only attack to his FH when my attack is very powerful or is a powerful block against loop (what is a little difficult to do).  When he serves long to me I try to BH loop or FH loop to his BH.  I don't know what else to say.

Lefties tend to have big elbows ( i hope that was understood by all) they also tend to have strong forehand pivots, good bh blocks, and bad fh blocks. my favorite tricks are long, fast side-topspin serves into elbow, and the long, fast, spinny pushes into the elbow. Lefties also seem to be weaker in rallies  (exluding boll ) as there 3rd ball attacks are genrelly better.
