Well, the box says "Made in Sweden" and Banda is a swedish brand; it is owend by Stiga (which in turn is owned in part by the founders of Banda). This blade - if genuine - was likely produced in Tranas/Sweden, so some sort of "joint venture" or contract work between Nittaku and Banda; Waldner was sponsored by Banda in the 80s... The interesting thing here is, that the blade has a misprint. It says "...Atlanta Olympic Champion.." instead of "Barcelona Olympic Champion". Possible only a handful of these misprint blades were produced, the other one had the correct "Barcelona" print. Considering this, the blade might be a lot more worth than 400 bucks, at least for collectors. In fact there is a blade like this on offer on the german ebay site. The seller wants 1000€... https://www.ebay.de/itm/Nittaku-Waldner-Manchester-Holz-mit-OVP-Fehldruck-Atlanta-very-rare/283726119984?hash=item420f650430:g:8koAAOSwD4RctEEX

Skynet, you are absolutely right! This blade was made by Banda but branded by Nittaku. Due to the misprint (Atlanta) this is probably the most rare Waldner blade. Yes, £400 (English pound, not American 'bucks'! 😁) is not a high price for this, I would say it's worth at least this much!
By the way, the one on the German eBay is a fraud!!!!! Stay away from that guy! Those pictures are actually of my blade! He must have got the pictures from my good friend, the previous owner. He even has the number 1098 on one of the pictures. That is the same number/picture my friend had before he sold me this blade. This guy sold a fake Tova Stipancic to my other friend as it was genuine for €800!! Stay away!!
