I think your upper body is too unstable. The main movement of the upper body is just rotation for the most part, no need to move it up, down, left, right...

you should also use your forearm. Right now it pretty much stays locked in one position. Try to open it up a little.

forehand topspin is a myth to learn.

There are so many advice on how to improve forehand topspin, but a lot are not very clear IHO.

For example, opening up your forehand, to my understanding now, is not to artibitarilly open your forearm when backswing, but to push your right foot to the out and back side of your foot, so your forearm will be naturally opening up. Look at how Timo Boll loops. His left side of the body (he is left handed) is almost turning to the back, and I believe he put his weight on the back-out side of his left foot.

The upper body movement, while not perfect, is the least of the concerns right now IMO.

PhillippVttc, you are starting with your weight on the back of your right foot and moving in a way that is causing your foot to slip while looping. You should generally be on the balls of your feet (balance your body in a way such that your weight is towards the front of your feet). Also, your right foot is currently not stable. Plant your right foot into the ground more firmly, especially as you are preparing to loop, then while you loop you can transfer your weight from your right foot to your left leg, via the glutes. Your feet should not be moving and coming off the ground while you are in the looping process, which they currently are doing. You should move your feet before and after the shot has been executed, but not during, as mentioned above your right foot needs to be planted in a stable manner as you begin the loop.

Your forearm could snap more but I wouldn't worry about that yet, fix your legs first.

Yes the backswing is initiated by the lower body, not the arm. The backswing determines your swing in a manner and so is super important.
