How does a point progress into mid distance looping? Do you purposely back up or you see a strong loop and back up to get to the highest point on the ball?

If no one wins by the fifth ball and both are looping then it usually progresses into the mid-distance.

Imho because neither player has the opportunity to take command by hitting or driving off the bounce. It looks spectacular but both players are in 50/50 land as far as taking the point is concerned, kong, waldner ma lin etc though great at those rallies are also adept at just cutting it off with a timely block or kill.
