I've heard that a head heavy blade(presumably heavier towards the hitting part) plays better. What's your opinion? If I'm using a handle heavy blade, do I have to change to a head heavy one to improve my play?

if your blade centre of gravity (CG) is more towards the handle, get a much heavier rubber perhaps chinese rubber and thus moving the CG towards the head...

I seriously doubt that. All my blades are heavyier at the head then at the handle due to the rubbers. If the blade itself was heavier in front then it would be akward with the rubbers on. I played my Yasaka Balsa+ with to max rubbers on and it feelt real weird as the whole paddle tipped forwar against the head. This made the whole blade feels heavy even though its one of the lightest blade out there. I think that a well balanced racket is the best, but what it all comes down to is how you feel about it.

You can use lead tape to make your blade head heavy.

I feel that head heavy blade is better for loops while even balanced is better for flat strokes.
