I'm asking everyone's advice. What kind of rubber sheet did Kim Taek Soo played with? I heard it was Sriver 2.1, but I'm not sure. And if I get a Kim Taek Soo blade, sould I get a Sriver too?
So far I have a Cypress-S, but should I switch from Bryce to Sriver with this Cypress-S? |

I don't know why I would be switching to Kim Taek Soo though, I'm thinking it's just better or something that's why... |

He doesn't know because he's a noob. What you have now is a fine setup. Don't change it.

I'm still learning. Thanks for the advice. My Bryce rubber sheet is worn out though. The rubber chipped off AND it's really old. |

To answer your question about rubber used by Kim Taek Soo, it was Sriver Max. Somewhat surprisingly, he did not switch to Bryce when it came out, like many top players. No one can tell you whether you should switch rubbers or not. If you must know then the best thing to do is try both and see what you like better, hopefully under the guidance of a coach or a very good player. |

In this state there are not many players or coaches. But once I move to NY, I will get some more help. Thanks for the help though.

Hello paracite,
I believe if you are still getting familiar to J-pen it is important to stick to your combination for a while to get used to the technique of how to used your racket. I do recommend that if the combination is too fast or difficult to control, then use a slower rubber or the same rubber with different thickness. But I think you have a good racket rubber combination that many high level J-pen players would use. I think later on when you have spent some time using the J-pen and you have strong technique, then it is a good idea to maybe make the leap to KTS because there is a difference in speed and other playing characteristics between the two rackets. |

I think you should stay with Bryce ! Its very difficult to change to Sriver, after youve played longtime with Bryce. The looping arc, speed, topsheet is totaly different, so you would have to play lots with your new Sriver to handle it.
My Piece of advice: Stay with your setup, perhaps buy a new sheet of Bryce, but dont change to Sriver IMO ! Good Luck ! |

I'm going going to the table tennis club called NYTTF, near Chinatown.
Mainly I want to change because Kim Taek Soo is an idol in TT. |

Do you think if KTS do anything you should do that? Think about your style, your level and then chose a suit blade for yourself, no for Kim Tak Soo.
good luck |
