First, some comparisons with MX-P. During a ball drop test the bounce dampens faster with MX-K than with MX-P. During a finger squeeze test, MX-P resists at the same level during both weak and strong squeeze.

MX-K is different in that while squeezed weakly it feels soft but the resistance gets much stronger once the sponge kicks in.

When hitting the ball, with MX-P I feel the rubber mostly, while with MX-K I feel both the rubber and the blade. MX-K provides a sense of balanced connection between the blade and the rubber. I really enjoy this feeling.

During my first session on BH I experienced many misses and was a bit stumped. I am a FH dominant player and my BH is noticeably weaker. Soon I realized that the rubber discourages sloppy technique.

After the first session, MX-K totally clicked for me on BH. With the correct technique, the ball leaves the paddle fast and with excellent control during top spin.

Overall, I would not call it a fast rubber, but it is not slow either. The interesting part is that ball speed drops sharply when the paddle does not match the speed of the ball. The rubber punishes sloppy technique immediately.

I played with MX-K quite a bit on FH as well. On FH I prefer MX-P. MX-P is definitely more direct. This is a matter of personal preference. I seem to like more direct rubbers on FH.

During thin brushing MX-P produces very uncomfortable low ball for the opponent while MX-K generates higher curve and easier to return ball. MX-K Hard may work better for me. I want to try it on FH someday.

The short game with MX-K is excellent. The ball is easy to keep low and place anywhere on the table.

Overall, MX-K is an excellent rubber with a unique sense of harmony between the rubber and the blade. Since coming back to TT, this is the first rubber for BH that I enjoy playing with. At this point I don't want to look for something else since MX-K simply does the job so well.

I am sure it's a nice modern rubber.

Supposedly MX-K Hard is what Joo is using nowadays. If only it was available on TT11... AFAIK Nexy is the only store offering it and I am not paying $55 (or 60 for their PRO version)  per rubber for it.
