hmm...seems like they aren't keeping up w/ their promise of uploading on time and letting us watch it live.  Well...I tried looking up on others sites that stream videos....and none of 'em are streaming 'em....maybe someone on the forum can upload 'em or something.

The host broadcaster VAV secured high definition (HDTV Clap ) coverage for the final matches of the World Table Tennis Championships.

The Spanish TV audience can see the finals of the Team event as well as the Singles and Doubles finals.

On the multisport channel of Canal + the Spanish table tennis fans will be spoiled with high quality footage from the event Madrid. Negotiations for a broadcast outside of Spain are in progress.

yes, it was unwatchable for me as well. The streaming goes like : playing -- stop --- playing - stop... playing-- stop.

I have a 30M broadband as well. Suppose to have a smooth connection.

It's not your problem, it's the ITTF connection that is slow as molasses...

The viewer even sucks more, it doesn't even buffer very well like the player in YouTube or Veoh...

You can throw in their crappy servers which goes down faster than a $5 whore...

Did I also mention the quality of their articles?

Never mind...

yeah what's the deal with ittf's media being such poor quality?  Even their archived videos are really poor quality.  Compare that to dttl.tv's stuff and ittf looks like the amateur leagues.  Come on ITTF, you're supposed to be the big leagues!

Streaming is supposed to start in an hour or so,  guess it will be impossible to watch again,  I hope they get their act together so we can get some smooth quality streaming when the stars play.

Wang Hao is playing Micaehl Maze now but all you can get is stopping and bufferring all the time. WTF ittf !!
ittf had better close shop if they can't do a simple job properly.
Resign ahem sahara now!!!

The main problem is that BWIN a gambling business has been buying over internet broadcast rights thus preventing net broadcasts by the Chinese broadcasters like CCTV5.
Of late BWIN have taken over the Polish Open, the VW pro Tour Grand Finals in Macau, and the ittf World Championship in Madrid.

GET RID OF ittf AND ahem sahara (send him back to India to help them) FOR THIS DEPLORABLE SITUATION !!!!!

And please DON'T patronise BWIN a gambling business.

who's you guy's favorite players? I liked the girls, wang daqin, chen meng, and solja amelie(for her unorthodox style).
All the boys(no disrespect), but since I'm used to watching fixpoint's videos/top pros. I couldn't watch the boys play. They use lots of power and miss too many balls, really boring to watch.

no wonder ITTF is under guidance of knucleheads, instead of making up new rules they should book a flight to germany and learn how to make a decent live coverage.

Because there's a lumpy section where the glue has dried underneath?

If so, that's harsh - I find it really tough to get a completely flat finish with the new water-based glue.

Thanks, Fixpoint. And I agree with JKC - this is not the match I would want to watch for long. And that is two of the best four young girls in the WORLD! shame...

By the way, did you notice how Amelie stomps her foot ? I wonder if that's intentional - it seems the entire hall is shaking...

This match is like an endless replay Smile

The german girl kept using her backhand against the chop. I thought your forehand is supposed to be better to deal with backspin? Maybe it's her weird BH stroke... It doesn't look quite like a loop, more like a push or something.  Anyone care to explain her technique?

I'm not trying to be a jerk by writing this... really, I'm not.  But if Amelie just loses a little weight, I think she would definitely play better.  Granted, getting to the finals was quite an achievement.  However, with a little weight loss, I think she would not "hug" the table so much.  She will be confident taking a small step back and have a good, powerful opening loop.  Right now, she just blocks and flat hits.  She rarely opens with her forehand because she can't recover from her swing fast enough.  So with a little less bratwurst in the diet, I think she can be a better player and be able to put away more balls against choppers.

She plays with short pimples on the forehand. Not sure with the backhand (long pimples I guess) but she used to play with frictionless pimples on the backhand until the ban.

Anyone care to explain her technique?

She plays with short pimples on the forehand. Not sure with the backhand (long pimples I guess) but she used to play with frictionless pimples on the backhand until the ban.

She is using Dr. Neubauer Gorilla anti on her backhand. That's the reason her BH stroke seems odd to inverted loopers.

I, personally, thought that the Tanioka/Solja match was one of the most interesting I have seen recently. I tend to like the unorthodox styles...constant loopers/attackers bore me into a stupor.

Evil%20Smile Putting on my asbestos jacket...

Isn't this girl (Solja) maybe, the reason why ITTF banned frictionless? It makes the player over reliant on it and proper growth would be stunted. Just like you are not allowed to use calculator in your early school years. You have to learn mathematics the hard way.

The way Solja play can never succeed in the senior years where players know how to execute strategic playing style. In the juniors where most players isn't savvy enough to read ball spins adequately, she can get free easy points. Take a look at the points Solja made, it is mostly from the errors of her opponents misreading the spin of the ball or mistiming their strokes on the ball. Her current form and strokes could never make it to the top 20 of the ITTF rankings. She's too slow and no offensive power compared to the current top 20 now(Solja would be ripped apart even by Fukuhara) in the seniors while the Japanese girl has the chance to become a future Kim Kyung Ah.

Solja's Dr. Neubauer Gorilla rubber is legal and ITTF approved (so far).

Before the frictionless ban, Solja uses Dr. N Superblock or Dr. N Wall. I don't really remember which particular rubber but she previously uses those banned frictionless pips.

This match is like an endless replay Smile

The german girl kept using her backhand against the chop. I thought your forehand is supposed to be better to deal with backspin? Maybe it's her weird BH stroke... It doesn't look quite like a loop, more like a push or something.  Anyone care to explain her technique?

She uses Antispin.
