Hi,

I am using andro rasanter R53 on both sides. During the first week the rubber felt very weird and hard on backhand. But after around a week now of playing the rubber seems to have become little softer, has more feeling and a pleasure to play with it. Is that true? Do even esn rubbers become softer and break in after using for like a week or two? Please let me know.

Thanks.

Or... could it be that you adapted?  Us humans, we're funny that way.

I think that rubbers soften up after some time. When I was playing with T64 I noticed that after 1-2 weeks, the rubber would be perfect for me.

yes, usually they tend to become lot softer after a few weeks and then they stabilize after 3-4 weeks.

Also new blades are more rigid at the beginning...with glue, humidity etc...they become softer

For me... Most of the big name ESN rubbers I've tried are way weaker after 1 - 2 months of use... Tenergy 05 Hard is the same way... But regular Tenergy seemed to be very consistent for at least 4+ months... or perhaps the way it gets weaker is so slight over time that it goes unnoticed.

So I don't think they have a break in period... I think you are just in the path of it getting way weaker... Maybe it's its' boosting effect fading away like it usually does after 1-2months?

Ej still looking for his perfect setup...

I don’t think booster effect will start to fade away in just a week. Moreover the rubber didn’t slow down. Its rather faster and more elastic.

This is very likely.

I wonder also if it might have something to do with the glue.

How does glue make a difference?
