I have a video on my site at www.colestt.com on the how to page.

I highly recommend you get  a liter in the metal can from office depot (not max) for $5.50.  The small brown jars turn to glop.  You'll ned some sort of brush for it though.  You could use anything though really.

Yes.  Then wait for it to dry completely( won't take ore than 15 miutes).  When you put it together, make sure everything is aligned properly. Once the surfaces touch, they're stuck, if you mess up just remove the rubber and start over( with more glue).

Rubber cement can stick rubber to blade. It is better not to use it because it will solidy the rubber and the performanace of high tension will vanish. You pay over USd30-50 for a rubber and use cheap rubber to damage your pro balde and rubber? Is it worthy????

I think he refers to the new post VOC era rubbers, which are designed to be used with water based glue. Using rubber cement can damage them.

The rubbers, even the most modern ones, are manufactured using VOCs and some of hte old style rubber cement.  I haven't heard of any that are damaged by using plain rubber cement.  That said, speed glue, with its more exotic solvents may damage the newer rubber.   It just depends on the formulation.  Chemistry is chemistry, physics is physics.  The laws of both apply.  Just because its table tennis, doesn't change the laws of either chemistry or physics.

At least speed glue can kill some modern rubber.    DeadDead

One bottle of Elmers rubber cement from an Office Supply store can glue on a dozen rubbers easily, not so bad for a few dollars. Cole glues hundreds of rubbers and he is right - 6 bucks for 20 times the volume makes a lot more sense for high volume. Guys above have a good point - don't use it on Tenergy.

So make it into speed glue. Just add thinner. The more you add, the more it domes.

Does normal VOC glue work well with Tenergy, just for the adhesion?

Dont use paint thinner.  Use Rubber Cement thinner because it is N-Heptane based.  Go to an art store and look for the Best brand thinner.

There have been a few people whom have reported damaging Tenergy with the use of Speed Glues.  Chemical reaction to the sponge....  Not sure about using Rubber Cement with Tenergy, even though the VOC's are much lower than speed glue.

Yes, it will work...depending on the voc type glue.  Rubber cement will be fine.  But the thing is, you don't want to put it on while it's domed.  Then it will be stretched and later when it dries it will shrink.  I would give it like 30minutes to dry after you put the glue on.  Make sure it's at least back to flat.

Sorry for posting in a really old topic but where SPECIFICALLY in Manila or QC can I get some Maruni? Please don't say "any bike shop" because I checked three bike shops already none of which have Maruni or any other rubber cement. None in Trinoma or SM North either.

I buy my rubber cement in NBS but it's pretty expensive (130php for 180ml).

Thanks.

Edit: Sorry I meant 132php for 118 ml not 180ml pero mas mura nga!!!

50/80 < 118/132

Pero naghahanap parin ako nung mga 500ml to 1L sana na rubber cement. Baka kasi mas mura pa pero thanks for the tip na rin! Wink

@zheyi: I actually tried that on my first blade. It seemed good in terms of adhesion potential but when I tried to peel it off the wood splintered like hell and I even ruined an andro impuls rubber with it. Don't experiment. NEVER use glue-all.
