I have no comment on this topics, because all the top players have excellant loop but just different styles. Chen Qi has powerful close-to-table loop kill right after serving. It means that he has an excellent serve which can create a chance for him to perform loop kill. Chen Qi and Liu Guozheng basically have same strategies and technique. Waldner and Timo's close to table loop learn Chinese player, small swing motion create fast loop and recover faster. In 1992 Olympics, you can see how Waldner fh is unbeatable, he moved very fast, loop fast, and sometimes using fh to block top-spin gave very short return. People confused whether he wanted to do counter-loop or block. He made his opponent moved back and forth.

I vote for Wang Liquin. He has awesome FH and BH loops. Besides, I like Kong Linghui's superb control and the strength of Kreanga.

although he's not in the list I vote for Petr Korbel. Maybee his loop isn't as fast as wang liqin's or as strong as ma lin's but I really like his technique

Let us compare what is comparable. With glue or without glue. I'd like to see Chen qi looping with an allround wood blade and 1.5mm sriver and I'll tell you whether he beats Birocheau's.

Vive la France !

i saw him playing mark hazinski at the 2005 nationals. I know john boska, his inital coach as a kid, and he was telling me that he hardly even playes much during he year. Yet when he does he joins a tourney and 4-0's the best in the US. His loop is unbelievable, and when most players are lobbing off the table because they are not in the point, lupi is ripping loops that boggle your mind. No look lobs, perfect pushes, he just goofs off and wins every match. It is unbelievable to watch.

You're lucky I suck

Take a moment and reflect.. How many players win a loop battle against Joo se hyuk? I'm not being biased here, but I rarely see Joo get outlooped.

Timo Boll has the best small stroke for looping where he relies mostly on weight transfer and forearm, which allows him to loop close to the table effectively.  Most chinese players have a stroke for looping and I would say that Ma Lin has the widest swing.  Wang Hao and Ryu Seung Min have the best loop drives IMO for penholders. Wang Liqin has the best looking loop.  Joo would be known for the best body weight transfer loop (he does not finish his stroke, which is common for choppers).  Kong Linghui has the best controlled loop.  Kreanga has the biggest stroke for looping.

Wanq Liqin and Timo Boll right now. Waldner in his prime; he can not loop as he once was able to, due to his physical limitations (doesn't use hos legs and hips as much as he used to). I just don't understand why Chen Qi is always considered to be one of the best players when it comes to anything. He is a top player, but you can not put him on the same level as Wang Liqin, Ma Lin, Hao Shau or Timo Boll!
