Tibhar H-1-9 w/ Inspirit Quattro 2.2
Started playing this setup at my club last night and the first impression I got was "smooth". Each hit and loop felt "smooth". I got enough feedback to know what was happening with each stroke. In fact, I could tell whether the shot was good or bad right after contact. This blade really surprised me with the spin it generated. My opponents noticed the effect as well. The blade plays the short game well but encourages you to flip or hit instead of just push. Blocking was effortless even from about 4 feet away from the table. When I began to smash balls they were gone!! None of my smashes were returned. All in all, I believe I have found "the one". I can't wait to play it again. I understand the passion around 1-ply Hinoki blades now. There is nothing like it. The EJ in me wants to acquire a Darker or Juic just for comparisons. Tibhar H-1-9 w/ 729-2
Changed rubbers yesterday to the 729-2 which has a medium hard sponge and lower throw than the Inspirit. Adjusted my game to a close to the table hitting, driving, and blocking game. I had one of my best nights at the club where I beat 2 opponents that I normally don't. I still don't have all the gears of this blade under control but that's the fun of it.

Thanks for making it available. If you ever come across a Darker one ply let me know. Now it is time to for me to try different rubbers on the Tibhar. |

so, it was 2winged who muscled in to grab that baby away from us...yeah...Tibhar's H-1-9 n H-3-9, to me r "Dark horses". I luv my H-3-9 ST alot, it's really good in almost everyth'n, power, control n all. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to BH chop w/it 5 - 10 ft away from the table and the shots all landed nicely on the other side. That is not where it excels as it basically can be used in blocking, smashing, looping, fishing and I notice 1 big difference for me is that my FH receiving of services just land nicely n effortlessly as I used to have lots of trouble doing that accurately wif other all wood blades. The sound of the Hinoki plies gives out when it hits the shot is just so sweet to the ear. Well, yeah...I know, I know that it could be even nicer wif 1 ply Hinoki like Darker Speed 90, Juic 1 ply or H-1-9 BUT this 3 ply is already that so much nicer compared wif other normal 5 ply blades....It was a pity that I unloaded my H-1-9 ST months ago to some lucky chap in the Far East.

Yep, finally bit the dust and the dust tastes good!! Now it's time to see what a 2.0 rubber would do on it. I might try some of my Stiga Innova sheets on it but that will be for later. |

Guilty as charged. I just happened to be trolling this very forum when it came up for sale. Now, if I could just unload my other blades to give the H-1-9 more breathing room in my bag. |

Glad that you like the H-1-9. Another forum member and I agree that it has some excessive vibration, compared to other 1-ply blades, I don't know if that you called "feedback", but surely off-center shot can be felt easily. The plus for me is that, the blade flex so much that it's very easy to flip, but because of excess vibration, I found that short push are not very easy to control. For me, if it has somewhat less vibration, it would be an ideal blade. But I like it overall anyway. Just IMO. |

Two other club members have Darker Speed 90s and I played one yesterday. We were going to swap blades to test them but he uses pips-out on both sides ( chops real good with them too. ) so I will have to wait until the other club member shows up. Needless to say I had a dumb grin on my face while playing this blade last night. I felt something I haven't felt in a long time playing table-tennis....I can only describe it as "joy". |

I need to dig my old bag to retrieve an old 1-ply Hinoki blade by Butterfly. I don't know what's the name though. I am curious that you all seem to like this 1-ply hinoki and I want to taste/feel it. As I remember, the blade is light and if I count correctly, that blade is 26 years old since first bought by my uncle. Too bad it's J-Pen though. Oya, the thickness is 9 mm.

that's a gem. Keep it! It looks like my 1st Jpen in 1979-1980 but I sold it to my English Coach. What a dumb move.

Wow. It's a Senkoh Z. Haven't seen that for a while... It's the same as Senkoh-1, except for the handle. It doesn't have that 21-layer wood handle that made Senkoh-1 famous, at least before Cypress-S came alone.

The backside of your 1-ply blade doesn't have corksheet, right? |

Wow, I don't know that I have this gem!!! Too bad I don't play PH anymore. I used to, long long time ago. I don't know what rubber to put on it, but as I bounce ball on it (on bare blade) I don't feel anything special ???!??? May be I have to play with it.
It is very very light though, but felt solid when I knocked on it. The black things on the handle (dirt? sweat?) was mostly gone when I rubbed slowly with my bare finger. It look presentable. The odd thing is the FH side looks darker compared to the BH side. I remember I removed the Super Sriver rubber that had been on the FH side for +/- 26 years. Believe me that it's not easy to remove it. But no splinter!!! There is no rubber on BH side, that's why it looks brighter as there is no glue residue. I guess no RPB back then Oya, I got this Yasaka Leopard (Shakehand) with about the same age. I guess it is 3-ply hinoki, if I recalled correctly. I don't remember the feel with Senkoh-Z (thanks to GenomicsKnight to inform the name), but I remember Yasaka Leopard was very sweet. It was my main blade!!! When I came back from long hiatus, I just thought it was too old fashion and decided to buy new blade. I also remember that I got DHS 032 original in PH. But I can't remember where I stored it. Should search my "warehouse". It is so solid, you can throw it toward a cat and kill it. |

Dear GenomicsKnight,
Thanks for informing the name. The backside does not have cork, only about 0.5 cm on the back of handle. |

Don't worry about hijacking the thread. On a quest for a Juic One-ply ST handle or a Darker Speed 90 ST. Just for comparison .... not like I'm a Hinoki Junkie or anything....
