Yes, the Innerforce Layer ZLF and the (discontinued) Innerforce ZLF have different medial plies. I'm talking about the current version of course, so I updated my last post in order to avoid (further) confusion relating the topic.
It is indeed not easy to tell spruce, fir and pine apart, as spruce and fir are technically related and pine does also look quite similiar to both in terms of the grain. Furthermore the plies can be heat/thermal treated, making it even more difficult to determine. In that specific case(s) I would listen to people like hipnotic.
What we can say for sure right away, is, that the medial plies of the Innerforce Layer ZLF and the Innerforce Layer ALC.S are neither ayous nor limba.
