I took out the two handle blocks from one blade and I'm putting it onto another blade. i tried regular glue and speed glue, but it doesn't seem to be solid. kinda shaky. Do i have to use some sort of wood glue?

Lol, you tried to glue two pieces of wood with speed glue/rubber cement? That's for rubber.
You can use carpenter's wood glue (it's yellow or white) but that's hard to work with. It takes a while to dry (24 hours) you need to clamp it down and the pieces will move. You can try polyurethane glue (which stains everything and I never used it) or you can try contact cement which you apply, let it dry and attach the piece in one go (no mistakes here). |

Can I use the rubber cement bought from Home Depot to glue rubber sheets as non-speed glue? Will that be too sticky?

Rubber cement works for non speedgluing as long as it isn't too thick.
If it is, you can thin it with rubber cement thinner, bought from an art supply shop. I prefer the Best Test, Bestine brand of cement and thinner. -- Andrew |
