Hi Everyone,
Does someone know the width and thickness dimensions for Yasaka straight handles? In addition, does anyone know whether Yasaka straight handles are uniform dimensions for all their blade models?
I currently use a straight-handle (Peter) Stiga Kevlar Wood, but would like to try out a Yasaka Max Wood or Advance 3D as a backup/replacement blade. However, I am tall (6'6") and have moderately big hands, so I'm a bit concerned that the Yasaka straight handle might be a little small.
The dimensions for the Peter handle on my Kevlar Wood is 29mm width x 22mm thickness and I feel this is a comfortable size.
Based on what I've researched, it seems like Stiga Peters are always around 29mm x 22mm, regardless of the blade model. Some other brands seem to have different handle measurements for different models, for example Xiom and Butterfly. The nice thing about Xiom is they actually provide the dimensions in their catalog...hint, hint to the other blade manufacturers.
Thanks in advance

Hey man!
I just compared the handles on Stiga Clipper wood and Ma Lin Extra Offensive - the Yasaka handle is a hair wider and a hair short of the stiga's height (when aligning the top plies of the blades, since they're different thicknesses). The yasaka handle actually has more material on it - its flatter on top, whereas the stiga peter handle is more round. Stiga Peter is my favorite handle style, but Yasaka is a very close second. Yasaka blades all seem to use the same handle dimensions. I think it should work for you. |

From Experience Yasaka and Stiga tend to have the same dimensions for their handles.
Butterfly is different as they have a range of straight handles that vary slightly, particularly in the pro player signature blades. The Timo Boll Spirit straight handle is comfortable. |

Maze OFF handle is most comfortable handle that I have ever seen. I have big hand, and I sold Xiom Stradivarius because of his small handle

Thanks for all the information guys...this is good news.
If anyone is interested in handle dimensions for other blades, I have found a few sources (neither of them has Yasaka handle dimensions though):
www.tak9.com : Korean online store that lists the handle width for most blades that they sell, however it is unclear which style of handle (flared, straight, etc) they are measuring.
http://cafe.daum.net/hhtabletennis : has detailed reviews with most of the reviews including handle dimensions. There are only a few reviews in English, the rest are in Korean. However the handle dimensions are sometimes provided in pictures, or can be deciphered within the Korean text.
Thanks again,

Hi Ozzie,
Sure...if you have some free time to measure the dimensions of your Super Leopard handle, I would be interested in hearing the results.
I don't think the Leopard/Super Leopard are readily available through North American dealers, but according to chronos most Yasaka handles are the same dimension from model to model.
Thanks,

Hi stiga21,
105 mm long, (4 1/8") from end of handle to top of handle near the rubber, 28 mm x 22 mm (1 1/8" x 7/8"), circumference is 87 mm (1 3/8"), the Y piece of the Blade joins the Handle about 25 mm (1") from the top where it meets the rubber, if you are not familiar with this Blade and Handle, I can email a picture of it to you, I don't know how to Download it on the Forum, please PM me with your email address if you want me to send you picture of the Yasaka Super Leopard Blade...
............Cheers.............Ozzie Rooster..............
