hi, my energy wood is chipping off and I've had it for a year, what should I do to avoid this when I get the next one.

FH: Hurricae 3,2

I have the same problem when I tear off my first rubber after 3 months of use.

varnish it~, it doesn't matter how long you play, it just need some protection. you may get water-base varnish from Joola, I use it now, so far so good :).

can i buy a similar product for varnishing the wood from a hardware store ?

would it be the same or is the table tennis product for varnishing wood better ?

Sanding Sealer, Polyurethane, and Shellac all work as well. Try it out with a very thin layer first.
