   My first actual post will be long. If you can remain awake through the whole thing you may wonder, "Who is this guy?" I want to introduce myself, although I would prefer to stay anonymous for now as I fear ridicule of my post. I'm 76. I played irregularly in local clubs for 45 years. My highest rating was 1691, with about 30 minutes total coaching and little practice. I played in a handful of tournaments, including the U.S. Closed once. I was a casual player. I quit about three years ago due to health issues. 
I lurked daily on this board for 12 years, reading everything for awhile, then less. I lost interest and stopped a couple years ago. I have returned and joined in order to make the post. It's my contribution.
