    Posted: 07/14/2008 at 8:26pm
I recently bought a viscaria blade, i'm expecting it to arrive here at home. I'm thinking which rubber may suit it better, i have here skyline II, higher III, Palio drunken dragon, Lkt golden dragon, Galaxy 9000, and maybe going to buy focusI or LKT pro xp.
My playing is close to mid distance looper trying to be like Boll.

i'd apreciate any comments, thanks.

ps - note that i'll still be gluing

A lot people like Bryce with Viscaria. But I love soft rubbers on Viscaria. I have played Sriver G2 FX which has great speed/control with Viscaria.

Yeah i'd buy butterfly rubbers, but they're way overpriced round here. I'd rather stay with those i listed but i don't know wich ones, or maybe LKT pro xp. Thanks anyway =)

I would not recommend getting the Focus I.  The performance to weight ratio is not really worth it unless you like thinner sponge and can get in less than 2.0.  It is definitely heavier than the Higher III you have and not really better at anything.  It has a lower throw than the Higher but that's about it.  If you must go Focus series try Focus III, but I prefer the Higher I and III over those.

Well, I must say that I've hit only briefly with both before. Less than 30 minutes with both. But I can't say they play similarly...

I really don't think that's a bad choice to start out. the Viscaria has a lower throw so putting the Higher III on the FH will help counteract that giving you a medium throw setup.

Yes, Viscaria is soft comparing with other carbon blade. But it is not soft comparing with wood blade since it is Arylate Carbon blade itself.

Reviving an older thread- I like my viscaria with Calibra LT+ ( still waiting to try regular LT) on FH and Tenergy 64 on BH.
I have tried T05/T64 both on FH and BH however personally on my FH i dont seem to like Tenergies in general and like the feeling of linear throw / spin and have found Calibra LT+ fitting my need on FH with T64 filling in BH.

H3 39 degree (FH) works well with Viscaria. As for BH, rakza 7 or nittaku G1 match pair nicely.

Tenergy 25 Fx is a dream on BH for a punch blocker and someone who when BH looping tends to go over the table with other rubbers.

I've just started using Xiom Omega V Euro on the FH with viscaria, it's very good so far, a little slow, but very spinny

I most like T05 on both sides of this blade, but I suppose it's not everybody's up of tea.  It's such a good blade there are a lot of things that will work.
