Got my used accoustic with metal tag and I love it.
I have two quesitons though
1) How do I know if it is regular or L size
2) How does the old metal tag compared with the new one with golden tag in control, power, speed...etc.
thx

1) It says L-size on blade surface if it it L-size
2) black tag is better in all aspects imo, especially because it feels a bit crisper making it easier to block and hit smashes/drives. I would advise you try the Virtuoso aswell, I did and liked it even better then the Acoustic, which I found hard to believe.. |

I used to play a Nittaku Acoustic FL weighing 88-89g but I changed due to the grip and balance which I didn´t like very much. I consider buying a Acoustic L-Size now but I´m not sure whether to choose FL or ST especially as I´m more into ST handles nowadays. Has anyone tried both?
Is the ST handle more square than other Nittaku ST versions? Currently I´m playing the Nittaku Noveliar (28x 23mm; rather round) which has a comfortable handle. |

Acoustic l-size st handle is not as round as korbel st handle. Not as square as tbs st handle. It is a combo between square and round. The shape is square but the corner is not as sharp as tbs st, more round. It's better imo.

The Acoustic is severely lacking in feedback compared to the OSP blades. I wouldn't choose to use the Acoustic over the Expert and I have both, Acoustic is faster so the comparable but better blade is the Virtuoso.
In summary the Acoustic is a good blade compared to an average blade, it's not so good compared to the best blades (unless you enjoy low feel blades) + the handle is terrible Edited by bluebucket - 09/10/2013 at 11:11pm |

Well it's just a personal preference... You like OSP blades doesn't mean it's better than Acoustic. I also tried Virtuoso, but I prefer Acoustic Night and Day. For me Acoustic feel butter smooth but Virtuoso feel kind of like Korbel, sharp and rough. I let my friend tried Acoustic, he feel very vibrate and dislike it, he use carbon blades. The handle of normal Acoustic is terrible, but the L-size both FL and ST is very good. The newer version of Acoustic has less feel compare to first one, but more powerful. It's a good blade for learning basic and looping. It's very predictable, but lack of power away from table if using H3. Perhaps it's the time for Nittaku to make Acoustic Carbon |

I found the Acoustic has huge power, never felt lacking in power with a DHS tacky to me. It's a very fast blade. It has some feel but the feel is "smooth" and I can't get much feedback from it. I like much more harsh and sharp feeling than that. This is why I don't like the Kiri cored blades compared to Ayous

It seems that you have more power than me. When I let my friend try, he says very slow compare to his carbon blades. H3 need tuning though, proably it feels slow when the effect is gone. My 506 also feels very slow when the effect of booster is gone. Now I can't live without Dianchi, I'm very please that I can use boosted H3, before I was able to use when the effect is gone. |

Either Acoustic or Violin it's not important now, I found DHS 506 made for Ma Long which is a very complete blade, powerful, good feel. smash like Violin loop like acoustic |

You will never know if you don't try, each blade has it's own strength.
Violin and Acoustic has control and very predictable, but it lack of power. Clipper CC, Viscaria, ZJK ALC are powerful blades, but it lack of control. The 506 has a power like Clipper CC but has control like Acoustic/Violin. It's very hard to believe but that's what I feel. It is better for looping than Clipper CC but it's better for smashing than Clipper CC, Viscaria/ ZJK ALC. Perhaps when I try the new Ma Long DHS 886 , I would say it's better than the 506 or still 506 is better.... |

I just received my Nittaku Acoustic FL L-Size (about 89g). I´m really looking forward to play with it as I´ve played with the normal FL at the beginning of this year as well as in 2009.
Balance and weight seems to be a bit better than the normal FL version although it´s decently head-heavy. My rubbers are a Victas V>01 2.0mm and a Aurus Soft 1.9mm which together should be not extremly heavy. |

The head size of the L-sized is smaller than regular Acoustic. For the one looking for a bit head heavy blade must use heavy rubbers for Acoustic. Blue fire M1 will be suitable even on both sides. |

I meant it´s already head-heavy enough as the Victas V>01 is a heavy rubber (like Bluefire M1).
Having another heavy rubber would make it too head-heavy in my opinion. The balance seems to be ok although it expected it too be less head-heavy. By the way I´m also surprised as the lens isn´t manufactured very well imho. It doesn´t seem to be 100% implemented like in my Nittaku Noveliar. Edited by Ovtcharov_Fan - 09/24/2013 at 11:23am |

I must say that L-size handle is the most comfortable ST handle I ever tried! And my 85g Violin L-ST is not head-heavy at all. Welcome back my Violin, I've been missing you! |

holda, glad to know it arrived safely. I myself have decided to focus on Violins only: I've got the old model and a new model with L-size handle. Besides, an old Vioncello is on the way to me. |

me too. soooo much power!! acoustic power def. > violin though. i see why ML goes for blades in this range as opposed to the faster viscaria. when you power loop with these, it just goes "BOOM"
