Its not Schlager, but Schlger. I think it would all translate to Hit covering if you were to translate it word by word. Off course, unless we use google, thats not how to translate it so we should translate it simple to rubber.

In those days Stiga had no rubber making facilities, so all the really old Stiga rackets also have Yasaka rubbers on them. I have some blades from that period as well, Stiga blades, with Yasaka rubbers on them, premades.

Tongue

And yogi, those blades still play pretty well, they are slow, but they have great control for the short game, and its pretty good for beginners even today.

Except, they all, the ones I have anyway, have red rubbers on both sides, so now illegal.

Yeah me too, and nearly everyone else in those times :). Thats why I bought the old one when I saw it since it was such a famous rubber. I will take a picture for you for nostalgia. I've opened the plastic allready because I decided theres no use having it if I cant at least see it :) (but it's resealed in another packet now)

Yes, those are great rubbers, I still play with my Stigas from the 80s that have Yasaka rubbers on them, some have lost some spin, the blades or not that fast at all, defenders blades now and decent spin, not too much. So would actually be very good beginners blades.

"Schlgerbelag" would be "racket covering"... or rubber for short !
Great finding ! I believe Stiga used to manufacture stuff for Yasaka in the 80's.

By the way, the french translation (caoutchouc de palette) is priceless. Never heard that expression. Still understandable, but so odd Smile
