I did a quick search. This was said by Schlager.

"Ma Lin says "Chu-Li" which means something like "more come" or "more of those nicely played balls" some might also say "Joy-Lai" which is the Cantonese version."

Yes, I noticed as well. I guess it goes to show how much better "skill" the Chinese have compared to the rest of the world. Speed glue or not, those killer powerloops will be ripped for winners no matter what!!LOL

Finally we see all of the top chinese players playing in a single tournament. So the question that tickles me most right now is what are they using after speed glue ban.
I think most of us will love to know this.

it seems to me they got even more speed and power. Just look at Ma lin's power loop drive.

Watching the final it seems Wang Hao is not comfortable with his rubbers. Everytime he missed, he looked at it with pure disgust.

can't say words, ma long got even more power and speed now....
is that because Nittaku Rutis ?? Big%20smileBig%20smile
good thing is that he plays 70% FH 30% BH or even less which previous Chinese players always stick with that method

and poor Wang Hao always becomes runner up.....

the amazing thing is the old generation might help ma long as Wang Hao irritates many people with his "unique" style.
So he ma long will not have a break! whatever he wins will be highly deserved and it is starting in 2009.
i think timo boll will win ws 2009. if not him ma lin. then ma long.
fun!!!

Is Ma Long secretly tuning his rubbers?

He seems to get much more spin from his rubbers than WH, WLC or Ma Lin. As a result he's much more consistent than the other 3 who struggle to land the ball in table when power looping. Whereas Ma Long can still land the ball mid table to make sure the rally keeps going.

Maybe he's just good. I just find it weird that he seems to have adapted to the new rubbers so much faster than the rest.

It seemed to me that both players in the final were using boosted rackets. Just take a look at the rallies and listen to the sound their rackets gave.

I don't think so.
I think their table tennis skills and hard trainig lies behind sounds of their rackets.

I saw Wang Hao and Ma Long produce such fast loops in the glue era, actually, I didnt notice much difference compared to when VOC glue was allowed. They played very fast counter loop rallies that would be impossible without boosting.

I know it is two very different players, but if somebody watches Matsudaira vs Alamiyan Moshad none of the latter players rubbers produced such a distinctive click sound as those of the two Chinese. Not to mention the arch and speed of the loops.

The two juniors played a match that is ITTF conform, that is, not as enjoyable to watch.

It is in january that we will see whether Wang Hao and the other top Chinese will be as lightning fast as in the final. My prediction is that they will not...
