Been about 3 seesions with Revo Fire on BH.
I got this because I was extremely pleased with Andro Hexer , with which Andro launched the new revo fire. My thought was that Andro probably indicated as a possible pairing Hexer with a slower same generation rubber on BH. I asked a few guys around in forum, and everyone gave a positive review... some compared it with Roundell as a BH rubber. Visual Inspection: Flat rubber, with non-porous (unlike tenergy or hexer) sponge, mid firm, not very heavy, doesn't have the wobbly gel-like feeling when you shake it. Comes with a protective sheet like older tensors roxons etc. And the topsheet looks non-tacky and less grippy. Playing charecteristics: First thing i noticed is it doesn't push as well as Hexer... but rather like the old generation popping tensors. less spinny push, and very low throw. It doesn't loop very well in BH...doesn't generate the spin that hexer generates to make the ball dip on other court. It blocks rather excellent... being so low throw, slower than Hexer on fast shots, and firm sponge... it is a blockers dream next to short pips. I somehow don't get much control without much traction. Hits and drive: i don't play these shots very well in BH but from what it seems it should be okay.\ Serves: Significantly less spinny than most, if not all rubbers i played. Flicks: rather easy but not bite.. can win points by placement but not speed or spin. lobs: Rather nice. Opening loops: Far worse than my $14 Palio cj8000 Biotech. Specialty: Nothing...No Revolution!! No Fire!! who should play... beginners who want to makea career as blocker, and for some reason doesn't like short pip, and for some reason loves high prices big brand rubbers, and doesn't serve with BH ... can use it in BH. On FH it may prolly suit some traditional euro players who are hell-bent on playing tensor with not much surface friction, and wants a firm sponge than regular ESN stuff. Overall... pretty disappointed with Revo Fire; when Hexer made me think Andro is getting the premier rubbers from ESN. |

Nooooo.....
At $30 a sheet I thought it was going to be a perfect BH rubber, very controlled and spinney. Well looks like I have to think about going back to Roundell as it performs rather decent as a BH rubber. I also have the Palio CJ8000 and HK1997 Biotechs (36-38 deg) and they both are amazing BH rubbers for $14 each. Thanks anyway for the review. |

+20 regarding the softer versions of HK1997 and CJ8000 Biotech rubbers. Very good performing rubbers (esp. the HK1997!) and a real steal for the money. Too bad Revo Fire seems to be an underachiever. I was hoping for better. |

all right here we go...
so club level players (read NON ELITES) can make no good use of these rubbers?
nonsense
IF ~you~ don't like them or find them inferior, that is well within your "rights"
to dismiss them outright for anyone else's consideration?
silly
Better to say that you find Andro rubbers greatly lacking...
or do it your way.

I am radical when it comes down to equipment, I do not mean any disrespect even though i dismiss those rubbers. I have no problem against those who use it or those who love them. |

I did a poor job of expressing myself & do agree with your last statement completely.
However that is not how you originally came off.
We do have the "right" to find/assess things as we find/assess them...
you told OTHERS not to bother
instead of
"I find"
we agree!

I don't perceive ths thread as containing a "fight" as much as being very funny. Spit obviously has a non-subtle sense of humor. Truly the modern day Don Knotts. This is great!! |
