My friend was wondering what would be a good rubber for the non reverse pen grip backhand?

Preferably something Butterfly but other brands are ok too.

A fast, grippy rubber that basically does it all and is easy to backhand with. If there is such a thing.

Thnx

What is a non reverse pen grip backhand?  Do you mean the traditional penhold backhand, having a rubber just on the forehand side?  Sriver L or EL gives a good balance for forehand and traditional backhand on Jpen.

If you are referring to the setup with 2 rubbers on the Jpen, Dawei IQ Light (reg) is pretty good for the JRPB.

Cool thanks. I will tell him. Do you think Sriver is a bit too slow though? Or will J-Pen make it fast?

My JPEN friend slams the ball with standard BH. I don't know how he does it, but he does it. I think RPB is possible, regardless of shape, but I can't say for sure. Anyone selling a nice one-ply JPEN?

Its possible. Look at Yoshida Kaii and Ryu Seung Min. I told him about the underside thing even on J-Pen but changing the subject doesn't answer the question.

Any ideas? How about the famed Xiom Omega Series or Bryce Speed? What about Hurricane?

Thoughts?

Since the topic here is about a good rubber for non-reverse BH, and I don't want to create another thread for almost the same purpose, can anyone recommend to me a "new" or "better" riubbers out there that will work well with Jpens?

I've been using for a while Sriver, Bryce, Tackfire . . .

I've tried some tacky rubbers lke Hurricane 2, but it seems like it doesn't suit for Jpens.
Any comments? Suggestions?

My friend is using Neo H3 atm. He's breaking it in. He's using only one side of C-Pen until he can afford Tenper Speed-S

Go for Sriver EL.

Otherwise a Mark V will do, I think.

No, I don't find them slow. I used PF-4 once and this is the slowest rubber that I have used for PRB (at that time, I am still learning to do the RPB).

But if your friend find both classic rubbers slow, maybe a harder rubber (hardness > 41 degree) will be better. So far I have tried YinHe (Galaxy) 9000D, with the sponge 47 degree hardness. I find it too fast for my liking and I could not control the pace. The other rubber which I have tried is the CJ 8000 Looping rubber (sponge 43 degree hardness).

Ask your friend to try other friends rubber of different hardness and find out which one is comfortable to use. Then he can decide better.

Cheers.
