Oh...My...God... But isn't Feint Long Soft not only discontinued but also ITTF unapproved? Or is Feint Long Soft the same thing as Feint Soft?

I think it is Feint Soft. I also believe that Shiono uses the Matsush*ta Pro Model (I've read this in quite a few magazines). I also remember there was an issue of Takkyuu Oukoku where it asked many prominent Japanese players what they would do now that the glue ban has come in to effect, and what their new set ups would be. I believe Shiono said he used Tackiness Chop, but would then switch to Yasaka Pryde. Granted this was back in early 2009.

I think Matsush*ta Pro is not it... It looked custom from what I could tell. |

I was just searching around the internet (i was actually looking for information about Shiono) but something about Kentaro came up. The website had a list of defensive players and their equipment. The website also said that Shiono uses Pryde.

That's interesting. If you still have the URL address, would you mind posting it here? I don't mind if it's in Japanese or some other non-English language.

It'll probably be Butterfly's biggest selling blade since the new TB series came out.

This was an article from a 2002 issue of Takkyu Oukoku. It featured equipment of many top (at the time) Japanese players . It always fascinates me how different the technology and the typical setup has changed over the years. Also, Jasupo (a very big tt store in japan) used to publish the top japanese player's equipment every year, starting in 2003 (or 2004). I could re post all of that as well. I doubt many will fall into the trap. Most Butterfly composites are variations of 3-4 primary models and play basically the same. Why would anyone buy that Zhank Jike ALC when everyone knows that he's been using Viscaria, which, I assume, will be less expensive.

Well the Viscaria is out of print, and I'm sure once the blade comes out, he will "Switch" to it.

Li Jiawei switched to Haifu. It looks as if she's using shark as well (shark has that same color sponge as dolphin/penguin). I think she switched to a stiga blade? I saw the clear lens, so that is what makes me come to such a conclusion.

yeah that's definitely Haifu Dolphin.
My argument to the shark guess though is that if she's going to use shark, it will be shark 3 and shark 3 has a pink sponge.

Interesting story about Zhou Shusen (the coach of the Singaporean team) He used to be Zhang Yining's personal coach, but what many people don't know is that he has a son, named Shu Arai (Zhou Shuken), who moved to japan and changed his name. He played on the same team as Zhan Jian (who changed his name to Sen Ken when he was in japan), but now his father works with his former teammate.
Arai Shu's uncle is a coach for the Taiwanese national team, and his mother was a TT player from the time of the Cultural Revolution, and was expected to be one of the world champions at the time. I've always wanted to tell people this, but didn't have much of an opportunity. That is him on the left. He had probably one of the most unique serves I've ever seen, and he specialized in offensive blocking (kind of like a modern Wang Tao) Might as well post his equipment since this is an equipment thread Arai Shu (JPN) Primorac Carbon (FL) F; Ekrips B; Spectol the only reason I brought this up was because we were discussing li jia wei.

I read somewhere on this forum that he uses the same exact set up as Joo Se Hyuk. I can't remember where though. Butterfly Joo Se Hyuk blade between TSP Curl-P1r and Butterfly Tenergy 64.
