Yes I agree with you, it's never been perfect but it's still one of the most highly rated rubbers on the market. The mind boggles about how good it would be if it was as easy to use as T05

I like that people are still able to use this 6+ months down the road, so it's probably a pretty durable rubber right? I just don't want to deal with spending $30-$40 on rubber every few months. This will be my next rubber to try if either Red Diamond or Moon doesn't work out.

Spinart goes to the BIN (more politely 'of the blade'), Thor's is freakin way better! I used to lose to a blocker all the time without getting a set, the difference (while I still lost) is that it ended 3-4 for him. Smashes land on the table now.. spins are vicious.. serves are amazing.. why the hell would I pay BTY 70$ for a product that isn't better! 2nd day using it, my first training session and it feels amazing. Side note: I'm falling in love with XIOM products.. after Xiom V1 (which is an amazing blade) comes Omega IV pro, amazing on RPB ! not sure about durability yet!

I'm really glad to hear it's working out for you! I was using XIOM Omega IV Pro on my backhand when I played shakehand and I loved it. But for RPB I've been using Nittaku Narucross GS Soft and it's been perfect. If I ever decide I need something a bit harder/faster, I may go back to O-IV Pro. |

You can purchase it at www.ttarmory.com but right now his site is down until he gets in his new stock. So you'll probably have to wait a few days. |

If you decide to order from them, you better get a hold of the guy first and make sure he's in stock. You've been warned...

Not sure, but I think that I close the angle alot in today's training session.. the more you close it the more you have to dig into the sponge otherwise the ball would behave in a weird manner and drop to the net.. why the hell am I even talking after ONLY my second day using it :P just giving my impressions so far :o

I went to Thors from Spinart (both black) as a backhand rubber - equal or better in every way.
Similar control, blocking, weight Much more spin, speed Better for pushing, looping driving, hitting, serving With Spinart I could never get speed and spin - with Thors I can get whatever balance I like. It also seems to be lasting quite well - a bit marked in the sweetspot, but no noticeable effect on performance. |

thors is a good rubber in some shots.
and then in some other shots it feels like crap. in some loops it feels good (when you get the angle the rubber likes, typical european rubber angle). in flat hits and direct loops (h3 counterloop/smash style) it feels powerless, dead. I would put it in the same category as an untuned whale II. tuned whale II, tuned h3, tenergy are superior. Edited by sa01 - 06/24/2011 at 9:58pm |

Thors isn't anywhere near the same class as even tuned whale as far as spin production goes (thors has way more spin). On bigger shots it even has more spin than Tenergy, once it has lots of hours on it, it's also faster than all the above rubbers. The only down side for me is that it's harder to use or less forgiving as robot says. It's never going to fail you unless the stroke was a failure in the first place it just amplifies your failure more than most rubbers do. The good part of the story is... once you can hang onto Thors you can use anything else very easily

the point is that it only feels a bit special when you make close to the table loops against a blocker. because the speed is good and the spin is very good. for flat hitting I'd stay with any donic or andro rubber (they are in the same price segment), it is a bit slow, nothing special here. for counterlooping away from the table it doesn't shine either, again I'd go with other tensors which are faster and produce the same spin. if you want to make quick forward counterloops h3 style it doesn't deliver since this rubber is not like an h3, it is more like an european rubber. so you will get more like a flat shot. I've been using tuned h3/whale II for a while now so my standards are pretty high. even tenergy seemed like crap Edited by sa01 - 06/25/2011 at 5:17pm |

I think I'll agree with you on the tuned rubber aspect. I've heard not much beats a tuned H2/3 National. (Maybe a speedglued Globe 999 or H2/3? Lol.) |

good thing about thors is that it is the only fast tacky rubber that doesn't weigh a ton.
so you can still use it as a BH rubber if you like tacky rubber on BH. all other tacky rubbers in BH would make your set up too heavy. but anyway come september the NEW VERSION Thor's is on its way... which, as per claims will remove counter-looping problem.
