I actually read an old article in Takkyu Oukoku. It was the 4th issue where they always list the equipment of the top 16 players, both men and women, based off of the results from the all Japan championships. This was back in 2008, just prior to the speed glue ban, and a majority of the players were using Speed Axel (I'd say it was mostly women, and at least half of the men). A close second was Juic Ecolo Shot

for just priming, rubber cement works fine but its hard to spread evenly. then you just use a layer of water based and its good to go.
