I have both. They are both fast (faster than Mizutani, Boll ZLC and Innerforce ZLC) but the Rosewood is softer than the Ebenholz. I would say Rosewod slightly better for looping with a little more dwell time than the tinnier Ebenholz. I use BW3 on them and so generating spin on serves and loops is easy. |

There is no better or worse blade... I haven't played with these blades but if Trottski is correct you should choose Rosewood if you loop more and Ebenholz if you counterhit. |

Both VIIs are very fast.
How long have you been playing Table Tennis? Maybe you should also think of V versions. Even Xu Xin plays Rosewood V not VII!

if i were you i would not expect much about those blades.in my opinion eb v is more solid and estable than vii.
ebvii is weird blade not just because of the awful handle but also because of the blade itself. It has a lot of catapult but lacks solidness to get control. ebv is better. more classic building. good blade with bad handle.

The PROs like 7plys all wood blades better than 5ply all wood blades. Butterfly SK7 is very popular and some use Stiga Clipper.

Chinese national team has been focusing on wood blades because of the superior control it offers. This gives player better placement, also wood generally offers more dwell time and produce better spin. The three factors considered to win a game is placement, spin and speed, the last onr is achieved by the player, hit the ball harder, use waste rotation to give ball more speed. However recent changes in rules for bigger balls and non-volatile glues are forcing them to look at more options, such as carbon blades. Zhangjike has ben using viscaria for the longest time, malong recently switched over to timoboll spirit. They are looking to increase the spin of the ball. 5ply has a distinct advantage for counter-looping, it uses much of the opponents force to deform the blade to return the ball. The problem of using a carbon blade with T05, for example is its compketely relying on the rubber to spin the ball and catapole the ball out, two distinct problem are one the ball has a high arch, two the ceiling effect (rubber can only do so much). so with wood blade you use flex wood and rubber to retunr the ball, better control better spin. traditionally wooden blades are slower, hopefully rosewood has solved that problem. i talked to xuxin, he swears by it.

I am trying to find that out myself...I am looking for a rosewood 5 blade :) I have viscaria now...there seems to be a ceiling effect when looping away from the table...
