If you read the rubber description on the site I think it will all make sense to you pretty quickly.  It's just thickness/hardness versions.

Just get a couple of sheets of rubber from Cole made from the thin Palio CJ8000 (C?) topsheet and Dawei Butter sponge, max thickness.  Smile   Very good control, great spin, not the fastest car on the track, but fun to play and good for players trying to develop strong topspin and loop shots.  Does not have a high throw so that's not an adjustment concern.

There are 3 different sponge versions that vary in the hardness of the sponge.  The "Power" version is the hardest (rated by Dawei as 42), the "Regular" is a little softer (rated at 40) and the softest is the SV version (rated at 35).  Comparing the numbers with other rubbers is most likely meaningless since each mfg uses their own scale, but at least it gives you an idea of how much harder or softer one version is from another.

If you do not know if you like hard or soft rubbers then I would suggest you select the "Regular".  It will be softer than the really hard Chinese sponge and harder than the really soft Japanese or Euro sponges.  Note: Not all chinese sponge is hard and not all Japenese or Euro sponge is soft.

If you know that a rubber you liked in the past was known as a "soft" sponge rubber, then you probably want the SV.  On the other hand if rubber you liked was knows as a "hard" sponge rubber then you probably want the "Power".

Once you decide on the sponge version you just pick the thickness you want like you would with any ordinary rubber that comes in one sponge hardness.   Thicker sponge is faster and spinner, but is a harder to keep on the table if you are not experienced and reacts more to incoming spin.  Defenders usually prefer thin sponge and attackers usually prefer thicker sponge.  If you really do not have a clue then the 2.0 mm is a good general purpose thickness.

I played with 2.0 mm Regular on both Fh and Bh for about a year and then switched to 2.2 mm Regular on the Bh and 2.2 mm Power on the Fh.  I can not tell that much difference between the Regular and the Power versions unless I am hitting a really hard flat kill.  I did really appreciate the change from 2.0 to 2.2 mm on my Bh because it allowed me to move back from the table a couple of steps and still hit the ball back without having to overswing.  The 2.0 was perfectly good as long as I stayed close to the table.   The 2.2 is more demanding of getting the right blade angle to keep the ball on the table when I am playing close during fast exchanges.

Hope this helps.

If you want the real info just talk with Cole.  He will help you figure out what you need.

I have heard that Dawei actually makes even harder versions of IQUL sponge than 42 (Power). I was told by some of the friends in Russia that a TT store in Moscow sells IQUL with 47 hardness sponge.

Hopefully Cole could comment on that. I guess there is not a lot of demand for sponge much harder than 42...

I'm not sure I'm the cheapest, but be advised there are varying levels of quality sold cheaper to accommodate what some asian suppliers feel like they should be paying.  I know australia and germany and myself get the best stuff.  There should be an reddish orange sticker along the seam of the plastic package.

One way to verify it is the ultralight version and not the regular quattro is to weigh it. It should come out around 55 grams for max sponge thickness.

I get the feeling that if I ordered it in 47 I would get the 42, but stamped 47.  Dawei's kind of like that sometimes.

As to UL vs regular, you can easilly tell the difference in topsheets visually.  Without either to look at, I'd say if it's under 62 it's probably UL.  If it's over 68 it's probably the regular.

yeah, I've alwasy thought part of my job as a specialist in chinese equipment is to buffer, or at least advise customers in those types of inconsistencies

it's not as bad as it used to be when I first started like 7-8 years ago.  back then you might get 38deg one time and 45 the next.  this could be 729, dhs, or dawei alike
