I don't and I wouldn't encourage any one to do it since it's against the rules of organised TT. If you only play for fun, I fail to see the need to tune.

1) for best results apply [Paraffin Oil] to bare sponge
2) use very little (a brushful, make sure to apply evenly and don't get on topsheet)
3) let it penetrate the sponge for 24 hours
4) attach to blade with modern VOC Free water based glue (so you can remove without hassle and reboost 2 weeks later)
5) No it's not legal (stretches topsheet, violating ITTF rules).
6) Check out the other threads listed below for alternatives.

I have question about 4)
If I attach rubber with for example Bty Free chack, I found it very hard to peel the glue of the sponge, once I glue it, so if I can not remove free chack from the sponge, how can I reboost properly two week later?

Free chack is the worst for coming off the blade cleanly. Just use good old rubber cement. I used it 2 days before Vegas and passed the VOC tests.

" TEAR MENDER " is the best.. it tears in one piece. but its a bit messy because you have to put the rubber on while the glue is still a bit wet..

i don't retune my rubbers for at least a month. it must mean that i pretty much play with my h3 untuned then for the most part. 2 layers of oil and i'm set until the topsheet dies on me.

I read 23 pages of a previous tuning post.

Did some experimenting myself.

On Sriver FX and Tackiness C Soft, I was able to get a dome just by applying baby oil to the top sheet! I didn't even mess with the sponge, because I thought it was too soft as it was.

Has anyone else experienced that? If that is the case, can I tune without removing the rubber from the racket? Because reattaching that dome to the blade is problematic - needs strong glue, but then $%#s up the blade.

By the was, it had fantastic results on both rubbers. They were absolutely worn out, and now they are so soft and grippy. I was amazed.

Cheap baby oil from Target for me. Smells nice : )
