Hi,
I'm currently looking to buy my first custom racquet. I'm an offensive player that plays a mid-table looping style. My backhand is my most consistent shot and I hit most rallies on the backhand, although I usually finish points on the forehand. I have a good technique overall. I'm definitely looking to buy a chinese blade and rubbers, the price being the main reason.
My research brought me to consider DHS Skyline TG2 Neo or/and TG3 Neo. I'm wondering what would be best suited for fh and bh. I want a spinnier, also more versatile rubber for my bh, but still a fast rubber. I'll be looking at generating spin on my fh especially on my serve.
I don't mind an heavy blade and I don't seek too much control. I've considered galaxy n-2 lately. I don't know anything comparable in DHS or Friendship.
Any suggestions, comments?
Thanks!

Buy a DHS premade, they're pretty good
Or if your just itching to put something together yourself a Dawei R2 with 2008 XP superpower for the backhand and Hurricane 3 Neo for the forehand will work. You can get this paddle at ColesTT.com |

Thanks for the info. I never considered H3 Neo before. It seems like a logical choice for my forehand. I never heard of Dawei before, will look into it. Why do you suggest those. Any other idea for a blade that would be good with H3 Neo? What characteristic should I be looking for? Light? Heavy? Hard? Flexible? Type of wood I would be looking for. I could go up to 20-30$ for a blade.

Dawei is a great value for the money. I've tested a lot of Dawei blades.
Cole has H3neo, and you could put something like Inspirit or Inspirit Quattro on the backhand. For Blades, the Quattro Limba is very good, $22 (handle is kind of big though). One blade I haven't tried yet but might be an excellent choice in this case is the Genote O. You wouldn't go wrong with the W6 either, but at the moment Cole is out of stock, and it's $34, a little above the price range you mentioned. In any case, take a look around www.colestt.com, and shoot Cole an email. He's very helpful.

h3 neo is a good FH rubber, i didnt like tg3 neo much but i sure many here would say its a better FH rubber than h3, its just based on my experience alone, IQUL is also a good cheap chinese BH rubber, same goes for dawei 2008 XP or palio cj8000 36-38, as for chinese blades im sorry i only have 1 the galaxy w6 its a very nice looping blade IMHO but i like H3 or TG3 more on stiga OC

I would agree that h3neo is a nice fh rubber, but yes, i do like tg3neo more than h3neo (but, in fairness, I haven't played with h3neo near as much as tg3neo) having cole put the cj8000 or 999 topsheets on quattro is a great option also. if you only have 1 chinese blade and it's the w6, you made a great choice! |
